Any ideas for creative/ unusual splashbacks?
Cheers,

I'm sure there would be some that would do similar near you. Also there is a range of tiles/stone including metallic mosaics and even stacked stone. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Splashback 8Mar 08, 2008 9:42 pm Its only between the cooker and range hood (900mm wide) - sits flush to both Re: Splashback 9Mar 08, 2008 9:50 pm Sorry but the illuminated splashback reminds me of a bar at a nightclub!!! Where's the barman????
I like the idea of mirrors or even a channel window between the benchtop and the overheads??? Depends on the house though?? Mind you i don't have either...had to settle for plain glass splashback.... Re: Splashback 10Mar 09, 2008 2:10 pm Illuminated splashback looks good, except it probably wouldn't go with the rest of our house. Now thinking;
marble splashback with downlighting in overhead timber veneer cupboards. rest of kitchen would be a mix of white 2pac or thermal laminate and timber veneer cupboards with caesarstone 'snow' bench tops. pic of kitchen attached...ignore green splashback. Ray's link looks pretty good but it might be hard to keep clean i.e. etched sections.
I guess anything is possible for a price . Might chat to the builder and see if he can come up with an alternative. Re: Splashback 13Sep 07, 2009 9:17 pm Hi - has anyone had any experience with marble splashbacks? We are considering installing one into our new kitchen (which we expect to use every day) but are concerned on the maintenance and longer term effects? Appreciate any experience3d advice!! Frank Re: Splashback 16Sep 08, 2009 9:40 am SuH If you have a marble splashback, what benchtop would you have? Probably the same marble, wouldn't you ? Otherwise it might look a bit odd. I definitely would MagicJ but francesco didn't mention having it on the benchtop as well. I was looking into a marble benchtop but it's very touchy stuff to have in the kitchen so I didn't risk it. Re: Splashback 18Sep 08, 2009 4:23 pm Hi again, Regarding benchtop materials... i actually have seen several kitchens that use caesor stone on the benchtops and then marble or granite for a splashback. This is what i plan to do when i partially renovate my Kitchen in early 2010. Here is a link i found with an example: http://www.kitchenvisage.co.nz/images/gallery/jervois/large/jervois-2-marble-splashback-ties-the-black-and-white-together.jpg Your thoughts on the look? I think we think alike, SuH !! I don't mind the marble and Caesarstone together in that picture, but I think my preference would still be to use the same on the bench as the splashback when using marble, just for that nice seamless look.
