Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks Re: To keep the splashback or not .... 22Aug 04, 2011 11:55 am Hi McClaren, If you are concerned about the look of it I say get them to remove it - I very much doubt you will have problems keeping the wall clean or that you will scratch the wall. If that was the case you should consider having splashbacks on the sides of your cupboards next to your cooker as well... I have a splashback that finishes at cupboards very similar to yours in colour and everything and each cupboard has powerpoints in them and that is where we plug toaster, kettle, slow cooker etc etc in and in the 5 years we have lived in this house we haven't scratched the wall. It all comes down to how you feel about it - don't keep it just because it's X dollars worth of glass. Good luck, JT Re: To keep the splashback or not .... 23Aug 05, 2011 4:24 pm it must be a new thing for dechellis, as you said they didnt have it in the mclaren, but here is one of their new displays at blakes crossing Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ i like it below is a pic of our old house, the design of the kitchen is more flowing around the corner, even though yours is completly seperated by the long window, just to give you an idea, before we put it on the market (this pic is from when we sold) we had a glass shelf above the tiles for our cordless phone, tissues, vase etc. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: To keep the splashback or not .... 24Aug 05, 2011 4:31 pm Thanks for that - I love it too - it ties in beautifully with the 2pac cupboards and front of the breakfast bar, but I don't think ours does ..... I think we'll wait for the big reveal and see what it looks like when it's all finished ... I might be persuaded. Re: To keep the splashback or not .... 25Aug 05, 2011 4:44 pm the cupboards are actually licorice linea in silk, i really like them i love the mirror splashback, i soooo wanted it, but it didnt really go with our colour scheme. even as the display, just a simple vase or something on the bench makes it not look out of place. but its up to you have you spoken to them about removing it?
