Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Jun 04, 2011 8:49 am We are midway through replacing our kitchen - I have no idea what to do for a splashback - please help. Here is the pic Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hope I managed to get that linked http://s1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb4 ... no%202011/ It is quite a small kitchen so we are not having overheads in an attempt to open up the space. Cabinets are white vinyl wrap. Benchtop Iced snow. We will have a SS and glass range The kitchen/family room is open plan, will try and get a pic to post. Colour scheme used walls Dulux Pale Earth, feature wall in living area Dulux Mudskipper. I am thinking of continuing the Iced Snow up the wall?? Others have suggested Iced Snow under window and Glass Splash back on back wall. Please help!! I think having the iced snow as a splash would look lovely. Did you want to keep the kitchen neutral, or have a colour? Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Splashback help please 4Jun 04, 2011 9:20 am I would prefer to keep it neutral, the house is a 1920's Californian Bungalow with a big extension on the back, cathedral ceilings 12 metre high windows right across the back, I am minimalist and wold prefer to use vases and prints to decorate. My husband wants a bold colour - we have a KitchenAid in Boysenberry (I really like purple tones) he thinks we should do the splash in Dulux Enchantress or something similar Re: Splashback help please 5Jun 04, 2011 9:22 am Hi Bel, Thanks for your reply, yes under the bench we have two pac in Pale Earth. The wall above the splash will be painted in that colour also which makes me think the splash should be different, otherwise it may look boring??? Yeh I would do it different also - but love the colour! I think Suh is on the money, Mudskipper would look great. Hmmm purple tones - have you had a look on some of the glass websites to get an idea of what it would look like? Here is one site http://www.decoglaze.com.au/DecoGlaze_Colours.htm# Virtual kitchen 1 is white and you can play with the different splashbacks. Enchantress is a lovely colour! Re: Splashback help please 10Jun 04, 2011 10:43 am I have added a photo here http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb438/betty881/Kitchen%20reno%202011/Kitchenmockup.jpg which is a mock up of what the kitchen will look like, a friend did it for me in photoshop. I only want the slashback to go up to the underside of the range, not all the way up the wall, I have also seen pictures where the splashback stops short of the underside of the range (about 15-20cm) which looked good. Re: Splashback help please 13Jun 04, 2011 11:09 am OK, so here is the kitchen as is with the appliances superimposed in. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thoughts.... Ceasar stone splash on window side to just above bottom window ledge? Glass splash back on back wall from bench to underside of range, paint wall upward from here in Dulx Pale Earth? Splash back - ceasar stone or glass, if glass bold Dulux Enchantress or Neutral Dulux Mudskipper or other?? As you can see there is a larger space on the right side of the range, I could put a floating shelf, we have Queensland Maple cabinetry in the family room which I could tie in here?? Sooooo many questions and variables Re: Splashback help please 15Jun 04, 2011 11:49 am Thank you suh, this is a great help. I like the first option better also. I think the refelctive quality of the glass will give it a bit more ooomph as well. Then I am still pretty free to add in reds and purples in the form of decorative items. I am still thinking about the ceasar stone - just a bit worried that it will be too much. Appeciate your advice! Don't ask!? Re: Splashback help please 17Jun 04, 2011 12:19 pm Oh, I know someone that has Enchantress as their splashback colour. I know you've decided against it, but just delicious! If you want a pic though... just to see.... By the way Betty, the entire space is just gorgeous! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Splashback help please 19Jun 04, 2011 12:45 pm Thanks Joles, I would love to see a picture... the husband is really pushing for a bold colour so it may sway me back the other way. I can't take credit for the house, we have only been here a year and the previous owner did the extension in 1996 and then they went on to doing colour schemes etc through to 2007. She had a designer which unfortunately is not in my buget!! The kitchen was left and never updated which is why I am trying to finish it off as well as she did the rest of the room. After that I will tackle the rest of the house Re: Splashback help please 20Jun 04, 2011 1:07 pm Here's another vote for bold Be brave. You know you love the purple! Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
