I have no idea what I should expect to pay per Sqm ? I'm in Perth. Thanks What material do you want as splashback? Re: What should I expect to pay for splashbacks? 3Jan 25, 2011 11:01 am Yes almost impossible to say without knowing materials you plan to use.. Even then, you could pay as little as $15psm plus laying for cheap tiles up to $900psm plus laying for designer tiles. If you want to get by as cheaply as possible then probably a cheap tile is going to be you best option. Re: What should I expect to pay for splashbacks? 4Jan 25, 2011 11:05 am Oh ok, whoops probably should of been a bit more specific! Well I thought just coloured glass - one company I called was quite rude over the phone and basically said "Glass Splashbacks cost about $650sqm so measure your area and then if its in your budget call us back" - grrr So $650a sqm is way more than I was thinking. I dont want tiles cause thats what I already have. I just want to modernise without the expense. Happy to go acrylic if that saves cost. Any product suggestions ? Re: What should I expect to pay for splashbacks? 5Jan 25, 2011 2:58 pm Have you considered using large (30x60) porcelain tiles with matching grout and minimum grout lines? It can have a similar effect to a glass splashback if you choose glossy tiles. I've done it in mine, the tiles were about $50 a meter + laying costs (probably another $35 a meter). You can also get glass tiles that look great. There are examples in the "Show me your kitchen" thread. Glass splashback may vary from $350 to $450sq metre with a green tinge or normal and starfire Do not get a single large pane per area. I rather have smaller panels so it is easier to change/replace a small panel even when you get to see the joints it is still cheaper as glaziers will quote you exactly for the coverage area.
