Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Jun 24, 2010 12:52 pm Have just bought a house which is partially renovated that we plan to build on. The kitchen is already done and looks fine but colour of glass splashback is not really our style and we'd like something more neutral. Does anybody know if it is possible to lift an existing glass splashback, repaint and set back? Re: Redoing glass splashbacks 2Jun 24, 2010 1:19 pm You can. However it can damage the wall behind if they used silicon to stick it. You also have to be extremely careful prising it off the wall as the glass can still break. Phone a few glass splash companies in your area and ask their advice. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Redoing glass splashbacks 4Jun 24, 2010 3:31 pm I pull off and reinstall splashbacks all the time - for different reasons Depending on the original installers and how much silicone they used - normally it comes off without too much damage to the wall - you wouldnt tell once new glass goes on. That is - if its on plaster, not cement sheet. But dont be suprised if glass companies are not interested in respaying the original glass and if they do its probably going to cost you just as much as ordering new glass. How many pieces of glass is it and how big? Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39047 What do you need them to withstand? If it's normal wear and tear, then either will do, if you want resistance to ingress then laminated would be the favourite, but only… 1 12390 |
