SB1 - We too really wanted glass (well I did) but our kitchen wall is too long - they don't make glass splashbacks that long (4.65m). Glass company suggested we get 2 lenghts but the whole reason I wanted glass was for the seemless finish. No way I'm paying top dollar for glass, only to have joins in it!!
We are now looking at 1200mm x 600mm procelain floor tiles with recified edge - so minimal grout. They are about $100/tile but relatively cheap in comparison to glass (around $500 for all the tiles) and I will only have about 3 joins. They are high gloss in either white or black and give off a great reflection - should look pretty shmick! I found them at Beamount tiles. The local store here has done a few homes with this tile and they say it looks fabulous.

If you happen to be able to get your hands on a photo of these white tiles used in a kitchen, I would loooooove to see it! I'm still splashback-less, and probably have to go tiles too so I want to find the largest, glossiest white tiles I can get my hands on. Would really love to see these tiles in action!!!
