Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Aug 30, 2007 2:05 pm Can anyone recommend a Wattyly ID range brown colour that may match the following
I want it to be a lighter colour than the cupboards which are dark chocolate will match. I have them below the bechtop and Overhead with the splashback in between. I will vbe using a light beige look stone bechn top as well Any advice would be great Re: glass splashback colour 2Aug 30, 2007 5:25 pm Whatever colour you go for (& there are lots out there!), I'd strongly advise seeing if you can view the swatch under a sample of glass before deciding. The glass has a green tinge & it changes the finished colour quite significantly (IMHO). Re: glass splashback colour 3Aug 30, 2007 5:42 pm epiphany has a good point.
You might want to consider starfire for a splashback blass. Normal glass has a green tinge as stated whereas starfire is completely clear. Matt this is true, however the starfire is a leap up in cost over the green tinged glass. Re: glass splashback colour 6Aug 30, 2007 8:37 pm From looking at my Wattyle fan deck and a chocolate I would suggest Wattyle “Grey Beige”.
Don’t let the name put you off it’s a really light chocolate. And as far as the tint of green in the glass, in all honest once the back of the glass is coloured with paint it really makes very little difference, unless the colour is VERY light. This colour will be fine. Go to a paint store and ask to see the colour……take it from there. It is not on any of the Wattyl ID brochures I have and Wattlys colour visulaiser is a nightmare Thankfor your advice as well Re: glass splashback colour 8Aug 31, 2007 11:00 am Hi,
I use fan decks, only special people get the fan decks! SO NO…you want see the colour on the broachers, that’s why I said to go to the paint stores to have a look at it. As a designer I have more colours available to me than the public. Just means a trip to the paint shop for you……. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: glass splashback colour 9Aug 31, 2007 11:02 am ![]() and Wattlys colour visulaiser is a nightmare Thankfor your advice as well Not that this helps anyone...but I completly agree with that! Thanks for that I am going down today to get a sample. My wall colour is Wattyl Feather white. Do you think this will go together as well as they do touch each other. Your advice is greatly appreciated Re: glass splashback colour 11Aug 31, 2007 10:46 pm ![]() ![]() and Wattlys colour visulaiser is a nightmare Thankfor your advice as well Not that this helps anyone...but I completly agree with that! They need to get their act together in the website department!!! I couldn't agree more!!! We had the same probelm. I went to the local paint store for brochures and then had our favourites made up in little sample pots. We painted them onto sheets of MDF so we could see what they looked like on a larger area and then I kept moving them about the house against different colours and in different light to get an idea of how they would look. Re: glass splashback colour 12Sep 01, 2007 7:03 pm Stevec…..I can’t find “Feather White” on my fan deck, and I don’t have a current Wattyl broacher, I only use Dulux paints.
With Dulux I can supply my clients with A4 sample swatches……much easier for them to get a feel of the colours. Sorry can’t help you with a perfect match, but by the sounds of the colour it will be a soft white, not brillante white. There should be no problems with colours blending well if this is the case. Good luck. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: glass splashback colour 13Sep 01, 2007 10:15 pm I've just posted a picture in the kitchen Forum of what a 'clear class = greenish' splashback looks like.
