Re: Caesarstone splashback - does anyone have one?? 22Apr 19, 2010 5:22 pm Yes, we believe that is the issue, we are still trying to arrange something with him and the kitchen installers to cover up the gap. He still insists he hasnt made a mistake and that a gap of this size is acceptable and well within industry tolerances. Caesarstone have been no help. I dont know what they're going to come up with, will let you know. Might be taking this a little further i think. Hi Sarah I don't know whether this helps or not, but ours has gaps of about 7-8mm at the top and about 5 mm at the sides. have been caulked in a matching colour. I don't know if this is industry standard or not but we accepted it as I was on site when it was installed and I can see they had enough difficulty with that degree of tolerance. Anything smaller would've been a nightmare, especially as it had to fit within a framework of 2-pack metallic cupboard ends. I got roped into helping the two hefty blokes maneuver it into position and that was enough to stop me from suggesting they cut another piece and try again. Mrs zeke and I don't notice it and I doubt anyone else does either. But ours is a different size and shape, so it's hard to extrapolate to your situation. Can you post any pics? Cheers zeke Re: Caesarstone splashback - does anyone have one?? 28Apr 21, 2010 10:18 pm Thanks, Bozza - we really wanted something just a bit "different" (and mrs zeke vetoed the multiple primary-coloured one I liked at Ikea ) The doors are "Luxe Ebony" veneer (from Laminex) in a satin finish and the surrounds are gloss "Holden champagne gold" 2-pack. Yes, the cooktop is induction. We had to be talked into it, but now we think it's great. Cheers zeke Re: Caesarstone splashback - does anyone have one?? 29May 11, 2010 11:21 am Thanks everyone for info re caesarstone splashbacks, just catching up on forums as we went on hols - right in the middle of building, it was good to get away and now its full on. We have been assured by Kitchen cabinet makers doing our kitchen that Caesarstone will come and measure - now I will be very vigilant, will ask to be there when they measure and when they install. I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe. S o I… 0 37089 |
