All the shades are just beautiful, but the BALTIC has a richness & depth to it......the way to go!! Re: Second guessing splashback - DH's Photoshop of colours!!! 127Sep 20, 2009 12:20 am Wow that photo shop thingy works a treat. Maybe thats what I could use to help me decide on a colour. Where do I find it??? or do I have to buy it??? Oh my two cents worth - BALTIC! It takes a bit to master it though. DH has been using it for years, so he is pretty expert by now. I wouldn't even know where to start . Hi SuH - They sure are pretty, those samples. Wonder if they are much more expensive than the ordinary Starphire? Don't reckon DH would let me stretch the kitchen budget any further . So glad your hand is a bit better today . Re: Second guessing splashback - DH's Photoshop of colours!!! 130Sep 21, 2009 9:15 pm baltic! it's very nice Re: Second guessing splashback colour 131Sep 22, 2009 6:46 am MagicJ Helloween what are you worried about? My house is gonna be black and blue just like a bruise That includes a blue splashback (Dulux Wedgewood) I think maybe it's the combination of brownish benchtop with the blue splashback and creamy cupboards I'm worried about. Noone else seems to be having that sort of combo. At least I am not alone is liking blue though. For a moment I thought I was being very uncool. DH did not want a white benchtop and I do love the warm brown. MagicJ...white, blue & brown go brilliantly together! We have white cupboards, Tunisian Stone Diamond Gloss laminate (fancy name for brown!) and our walls are deep blue. We think it looks fantastic. We have our fingers crossed that our splashback arrives this Friday (highly unlikely given our luck so far!!). Good luck with your decision...so far you've made outstanding ones! My choice would be baltic for sure! Re: Second guessing splashback - DH's Photoshop of colours!!! 132Sep 22, 2009 9:06 am On another thread I think I saw you were worried about the baltic being too dark and heavy? Don't forget the glass will have reflections which will lighten it up again. I like the contrast of the dark rather than the light, I would be worried that a lighter colour would be too wishy-washy. In that case, what would you do the feature wall in the family room, Nick's Nook too, or a shade lighter or darker? I already have Nick's Nook in the entrance hall (which is way down a lengthy hall) - can you have too much of one accent colour? Re: Second guessing splashback - DH's Photoshop of colours!!! 135Sep 22, 2009 6:52 pm YES you can have too much assent colour 3 lots of Nicks Nook….not good. BUT you can do what I did on my kitchen cupboards and go 2 shades lighter for the feature wall; it will sit in the middle of both Nicks Nooks. Now just hand in there so I can find what colour that was. Hey... also a purple will look fab with the green! Re: Second guessing splashback - DH's Photoshop of colours!!! 138Sep 22, 2009 7:00 pm Hi SuH, Yeah, it only took me 7 pages to realise that blue wasn't doing it for me with the benchtop I had chosen!!! Trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Think DH is going to have a coronary soon - i made him buy 5 blue sample pots (he LOATHES sample pots at the best of times!!!) !!! Splashback man is coming tomorrow, so have to be definite by then. Only thing I will need to do will be to buy a new rug for the floor - the one I had in Melbourne is blue. Think I can cope with that though - worth anything to be rid of the dreaded SPLASHBACK STRESS SYNDROME (SSS) !!!
