Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Aug 21, 2009 4:59 am Hi Michelle (and other colour gurus), Sigh, well I thought I had this decided. But now, having seen everyone else's neutral-style kitchens, I've become a bit unsure. My alabaster kitchen cabinetry has been installed and I love it (hopefully pics later today). Also love my benchtop, which is yet to be installed, being Quantum Quartz Coco. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I really love blue and all my kitchen accessories are blue. So I had a colour consultant in and I said I would like a blue glass splashback so she suggested Dulux Sea Breeze Half-strength behind Starphire glass. http://www.dulux.com.au/html/specifier/ ... =206&b=217 This was to be complimented by a feature wall in the adjacent family room of Dulux Post Boy. http://www.dulux.com.au/html/specifier/ ... =155&b=173 My flooring is solid timber in Tasmanian Blackwood. Can you tell me what you think of this colour combo? I still have time to change my splashback colour. Nobody else seems to be having blue . Am I crazy? PS Sorry, still haven't got the knack of posting the colours directly into a post - I must be doing SOMETHING wrong!! Re: Second guessing splashback colour 2Aug 21, 2009 6:20 am I like those colours i was going to use blue but switched to green features at the last minute. ( which i dont seem to be using in the kitchen now anyway). i have already bought 2 different lots of splashback tiles i never thouhgt the splashback would cause so much trouble as it has Re: Second guessing splashback colour 3Aug 21, 2009 9:09 am I say go for what you like. The blues complement each other very well and look nice and fresh. Don't second guess yourself into doing what everyone else is doing. Often people just end up with no colour because they're not confident in their own choices. You want to live in a house that you love. Re: Second guessing splashback colour 6Aug 21, 2009 9:21 am CarolineJ I think it will look fantastic, is it on optically clear glass? Not sure if I'd like it with a green tinge, myself. Yep, no green tinge allowed. Blue and green should never be seen, don't they say? We are too, I think it is atlantic ocean metallic Yayyyy, someone else!! What colour benchtop are you going with, Dstann? I think maybe it's the blue and brown not going together I'm worried about. My house is gonna be black and blue just like a bruise That includes a blue splashback (Dulux Wedgewood) Contracted completion date 24 July 2010. What's today's date????? Re: Second guessing splashback colour 11Aug 21, 2009 10:04 am Helloween what are you worried about? My house is gonna be black and blue just like a bruise That includes a blue splashback (Dulux Wedgewood) I think maybe it's the combination of brownish benchtop with the blue splashback and creamy cupboards I'm worried about. Noone else seems to be having that sort of combo. At least I am not alone is liking blue though. For a moment I thought I was being very uncool. DH did not want a white benchtop and I do love the warm brown. Re: Second guessing splashback colour 12Aug 21, 2009 11:02 am well my bricks outside are austral blackwood and my render will be Haymes Tempest Storm.. so brown and blue scheme. I must say I was initially worried about the brown and blue combo, but I think it's ok as long as you get the shades right. Contracted completion date 24 July 2010. What's today's date????? Re: Second guessing splashback colour 13Aug 21, 2009 11:11 am OK, now that I know there will be no green tinge, I think it's going to look FAB. Lightish browns and pale blue are lovely together. I have a browny beige laundry, and am going to get the metal laundry accessories in blue to break it up. Cannot wait to see yours all in! Thanks, Helloween, hopefully Michelle will be able to confirm that my shades are OK, cos that's what I'm hopeless at. The other design consultant picked them for me though, so hopefully it's all good. Re: Second guessing splashback colour 16Aug 21, 2009 11:36 am i really like the splashback colour, and think that the idea of the feature wall will make it stand out. Dont worry about not having the same as everyone else, isnt that the point? Stick with what you love Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating....
