Hi all,
My builder wants to charge us ~$1500 for the splashback which seems excessive. I was wondering what's the best place to get fire rated splashback, and how much it would cost to install it ?
Cheers

From memory they bring the most popular samples. I have one long piece across the back wall of the cooktop. No joins. behing the sink & 2 walls on either side. A friend of mine got the kitchen company to do it & she is sorry now as it was only a small area but it's cut in 3 pieces, looks awful. this is heatproof glass & then extra is the crystal clear glass which they paint in the dulux colours. Most people get the standard glass tempered glass as the starfire glass is too expensive.they measure your area after the kitchen is in with the power points fitted, takes about 2-3 weeks after measure. After having a glass splash I would never have anything else. To clean I only wipe over then dry with a microfibre cloth. Decoglaze have a cleaner that you can buy in woolworths that cleans the splashback , stainless steel & benchtops, haven't tried it as yet. As a side note, the house you see when you first go to the website looks like Wisdom's Impression 38 MK2 at the ponds in Sydney. Re: Where to get glass splashback from ? 5Aug 03, 2009 6:31 pm i'm in brisbane so can't really help with where to get it from but we went with Australia Glass and they are charging us approx $1200 subject to site measure. This is approx 800cm high by 1.8m with two cut outs at the top + 2 powers point cut outs as well. Hope that helps. |
