We had the choice of getting splashback behind the stove but have chosen to get a 500mm x 2000mm fixed window instead.
Thoughts on how this would look with a freestanding oven ?? Anybody have photos ??
thoughts ??

Looks great! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: splashback or window 3Feb 28, 2009 11:43 am If you do a search - search function up on the top right hand corner - there has been a couple of threads about this.
I think there are a couple of forumers who have chosen to do this. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: splashback or window 5Feb 28, 2009 12:34 pm This is what we're having :

About $130/m2. Looks better than the standard Cathedral or Satinlite. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. How would it then hold up to cooking splashes from the cooktop & constant subsequent cleaning. Would the edges start to peel back ? Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: splashback or window 9Feb 28, 2009 1:21 pm I quite like the window splashback especially when the kitchen is not close to any window/door (depend on the layout of the house), it can lighten the kitchen area. I remember when i visitied PD the sales also said that it can be changed to an openable window if needed, and it is not an expensive option.. so the cooking smell can go away from there too.. The window won't be opaque either, hadn't thought about the creeps at night. Our pool will be out that side with a rendered brick wall also, so hopefully the neighbours won't be able to see in! Re: splashback or window 11Feb 28, 2009 2:35 pm Southies Is that cost for the film only or is installation included ? Is it tricky to install ? Where can you buy it ? Thanks again Ed The price I gave was including installation but they may have a minimum charge. I installed it right first time. I buy from a guy I found on on eBay great service and great film.... you can find him here... Matti Pickering www.windowfrosting.co.nz If you do it yourself - and I would - make sure that the glass is very wet AND your hands are very wet too. (The instructions don't mention the hands). It has to be rated fire retardant if is to go directly behind the cooktop - fire retardant includes not melting (I believe) - might be important to check the MSDS in relation to the the AS/NZS on this one. Cheers, Earl I think that's within 150mm of the hob? The reveal depth will be say 110mm. Then add the wall to hob. In fact less likely to burn than the plastic wedge holding the glass in. Tel. 1800 326 326 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7379 |
