Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Feb 02, 2007 10:29 pm Hi I am new to this site and was wondering if anbody has used laminex as a splashback? If you have what type or product in the range did you use? We have a very limited budget for our kitchen makeover and I have found in the laminex range the look that I want but am concerned about using it behind a stovetop ( it is a ceran top ) It says intheir brochures you can not use it behind a gas top but nothing about any others. Please help. Thanks Thanks 3Feb 02, 2007 11:26 pm Thank you for your reply. Did laminex supply it for you? Do you know of a site or link that has pictures of it being used? Is it a certian type of laminate that you used? Can I place it directly over the tiles that are there already? Sorry for all the q's but when I went to our local Laminex retailer they were not excatly what I would call helpful, so I am looking for help elsewhere (obviously) Re: Laminex as a Splashback 4Feb 02, 2007 11:33 pm I used a Wilsonart laminate from Parbury Building Products.
Any laminate will do but you will need to have some sort of substrate behind it (9 or 16mm MDF etc) . I would not recommend applying laminate to tiles. Remove the tiles and then glue the laminate (with a suitable substrate) to the wall. Hope this helps. |
