Paint the Antique White on to both and see which one is best for you. Not sure if it matters but the green tinged glass is cheaper as it doesn't need to use starfire glass. Yes, it's regular glass called ' clear float' before the back is painted & miles cheaper . So if you want a cheap glass splashback go with a dark colour if the green bothers you. Well I just wanted to say I like both your user name and your house Kitchen is going to look absolutely fantastic once you have finished. I like the coloured splashbacks more than the plain white/green glass but it all depends on the look you are after. Stunning views btw, you must be so thrilled on how your house is coming along. I will follow your progress with great interest. Mrs B Re: Kitchen installed - help splashback ideas please 28Oct 22, 2008 6:07 pm Thanks Mrs B, we are hoping to be in by x-mas but I don't think we will make it. At the moment we are at fixing stage and the painter has started interior paint - the doors, architraves and skirtings have been painted antique white usa and looks quite good.
I have been very worried about my kitchen colour choice thinking they are too dark and may be I should have gone for a combination of a lighter colour and a darker colour (as everyone else is having white cupboards) - but I guess it is too late and I have to work with what I have. Having said that the woodgrain look a lot more brighter than in the photo. A bit of colour on splashback is good but it is very hard to decide. braveheart Re: Kitchen installed - help splashback ideas please 29Oct 22, 2008 7:08 pm I think your kitchen will look quite good with the splashback being the same colour as your walls. The dark cupboards look great, don't stress about them not being white! Our kitchen is almost all antique white (including the splashback tiles) and it just lacks punch. Re: Kitchen installed - help splashback ideas please 30Oct 22, 2008 7:15 pm Braveheart, I wouldn't be disappointed with the colour of your cabinetry. I think it's stunning.
You should get a lot of natural light in the room, so that will brighten it up considerably, no matter what colour splashback you decide on. We are going to get a skylight in addition to the big window next to the kitchen for extra light. braveheart Re: Kitchen installed - help splashback ideas please 32Oct 22, 2008 7:35 pm I agree braveheart, the colours of your cupboards are lovely.
