Browse Forums Laundry Appliances 1 Aug 25, 2012 8:26 am Our washing machine vibrates from side to side when the drum is spinning which causes it to walk forward. This wasn't a problem in our old house but in the new one, the washing machine is recessed under the laundry benchtop and has cupboards to one side and the wall to the other. We can prevent it moving forward but we are concerned that the side to side movement will ruin the wall and the cabinets. Has anyone else experienced the same issue and found a way around it apart from buying a new washing machine? Re: Walking washing machine 3Aug 26, 2012 5:34 pm Hi Lex, thanks for the reply. Actually my husband came up with a solution for me. He made sure the machine was level, packed the sides and top of the machine with sheets of foam and told me to reduce the spin cycle to 600 instead of 800 and it seems to have solved the problem. Its little adjustable legs did help sometimes, but not always - when the machine's get-me-back-into-balance mechanism gets sick, there is not much the little legs can do on a permanent basis ( ) My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
