These are the ones i'm considering... Is there any others that I should consider? Has anyone used any of the above and what are their thoughts?
Hi - there's already a thread with almost the same title and lots of feedback you should have a look at that. I'm currently looking for one at the moment too - went looking on the weekend and the Samsung Bubble Wash was pushed by the Good Guys and Asko by Harvey Norman - will keep looking and getting more advice and more confused!
What price did you get offered by the Good guys/Harvey Norman for the bubble?
The bubble was marked up at $929 and because we aren't buying for a couple of months we didn't get to make a deal but as we are buying a fridge and a dishwasher as well you would expect some discount. Have you seen one - looks and sounds good will need to do more research though.
We've got a Bosch...about 18 months old, and are really happy with it. We have 2 young kids so it gets used ALOT!
I've just recently finished doing a bunch of research on this exact thing - ended up paying for a Choice online subscription so I could read their report & read heaps of reviews at http://www.productreview.com.au/categor ... at_id=1041 (although the productreview site is often only folk complaining). Choice is a far more objective test.

Choice recommended Miele, Asko & Bosch. Didn't want to pay the premium for Miele/Asko & read many good reviews about the Bosch so went with that one.

I have found one of the best places to buy whitegoods is online from:
http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/fron ... 38276.aspx

They delivered it a couple of days later for free, set it up & even took away my old machine.

I bought the $991 Bosch 7kg model - no complaints so far:
http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/7kg- ... 462au.aspx

My old one was an LG which lasted only about 5 years of light-medium usage.
How are you finding the Bosch?

I will consider it if that is what Choice said was best, and you are happy with it too?
I have been looking at LG. I am after a frontloader that I can stop midwash if possible & open the door to through in that extra sock!
I have also been told that LG have a quick wash option & that other models can take up to 4 hours for one cycle...any thing you can add would be helpful as I don't need to buy for another month or two.
Quote for LG 7.5kg was $825.00
Aside from the midwash stop function, there is nothing that would make me want to go the LG route. We have an LG at the moment, and whilst we've had no problems with it, it isn't that good either. The thing i'm most disappointed about though, is how it doesn't seem to clean all that well. It does an OK job.

BTW a number of front washers have a 15 minute or 30 minute quick was cycle now too.

Definitely happy with it, no complaints after a few weeks. Particularly love how you can set the finish time (eg. 4 hours from now).

There are heaps of different settings - none of the normal ones take that long for a cycle. Just checked - normal cotton wash at 60° with 1200rpm spin is only 1hr 35 min. At 30° it's 1hr 17min. The LG took heaps longer, was noisier & after a few years wasn't cleaning the clothes properly.

Only issue of course is that once it has started you cannot unlock the front like all frontloaders. At end of cycle it unlocks quickly - the LG used to take a couple of minutes before it would decide to unlock (I think it had some child-lock function that couldn't be turned off).

I was happy with the LG at the time. But it didn't last & I prefer the Bosch - quicker cycle time & quieter. I found that the Bosch & some other brands generally have better reviews from users & reviewers (eg Choice).
Mine packed up today so have been having a look aswell. I dont mind the Electrolux 8kg http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/8kg- ... f1083.aspx (bought a electrolux dryer about 12 months ago and seems ok) or http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/7kg- ... 462au.aspx.
I have a Bosch dishwasher (just over 5 years old) and still runs like the day i bought it.
Yay for me, have purchased the bosch. Only 6.5 kg but to be honest we don't do a lot of washing.
Got it for $699.00
Thanks for sharing kiwikim - must admit I'm leaning towards the Bosch! Sounds good.
Another vote for Bosch. I got a 7kg one four months ago and I have to say I actually get a tiny kick out of doing the washing now. Well, not that much of a thrill but I don't mind it.

Best things:
* 15 minute cycle (husband's stinky gym clothes come out totally fresh and clean)
* You can see cycle length and customise aspects of wash if you want to reduce time
* Timer to set end time so it finishes when you want it to (good if you're going out - doesn't sit there getting creased for hours)

Love it!
I ended up ordering the Electrolux $801 delivered for a 8kg. I was liking the Bosch but the largest they had was a 7kg. The one i got is the same model as my mums and she has had it for a few years and seems ok. Should arrive Thursday.

My washing machine died yesterday, so today I bought a Bosch 8kg which they delivered within 2 hours and took away the old one.
I have done 3 loads already I haven't tried all the settings yet but so far so good
