Browse Forums Laundry Appliances 1 Mar 26, 2011 10:04 am Hi, I am after a new front loader washing machine. I have been looking at Miele, Asko and german made Bosch. Does anyone have any positive or negative feedback on thse brands? I currently have a 8kg top loader but have noticed that most front loaders are around the 6.5-7kg mark, would these fit approximately the same amount of clothes due to not having the agitator? Bosch do an 8kg but it is more expensive than the Miele. Thanks! Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 3Mar 26, 2011 10:19 am We have an LG Inverter 7.5kgs, love it. Never had any issues with it. Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 4Mar 26, 2011 10:55 am I have a Miele and love it. Had it for about 5 years now and hasn't missed a beat. I can't remember what size it is, but it fits alot more in than it looks like it can lol. I have 3 young boys and have at least 2 loads a day going in it. We looked at the Asko's too, but I can't remember what made us choose the miele, but I don't think you can go wrong with either. You can even pause and open the door to add clothes http://www.lg.com/au/laundry-floorcare- ... 4030RD.jsp Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 11Mar 27, 2011 9:22 am Be careful with the capacity of the machine, we bought a 8kg Bosch, which has been great, but the different settings have different capacities.... the mixed load ( the one we use most ) setting on our machine only has a capacity of 5kg!! Also try the Choice website for reviews and features... Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 12Mar 27, 2011 9:38 am Whirlpool, 11-12 years old now , (4.5 kg or maybe 5kg ). Washes a double bed polyester doona, but I wouldn't push it with a queen size. Manual controls . The only negative - the rapid wash only has 2 rinses, normal wash 3. Nowhere near enough for me, I always turn it for "one more full rinse cycle". Not sure of this, but I thought that Asko has 4 or 5 rinses built in as standard. Can anyone comment on this? If our machine dies suddenly, I'm thinking Asko next time (as I'm not sure if the quality of the Whirlpool has changed in all these years ). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 13Mar 27, 2011 10:13 am We've always had an LG - which was fantastic, no issues (apparently you need to buy the upper models, the base models aren't made to last) ... anyway, I was sick of washing so many loads per day and wanted a bigger machine, so I went for a Samsung 10kg washer (6kg dryer) and I haven't looked back! I can do the entire houses sheets in one load (2 x king sheets, 2 x queen, 1 x king single and 1 x cot set, plus all pillowcases). I don't use the dryer, but I didn't buy it for the dryer ... I just couldn't buy a machine that size without a dryer. Another bonus it came on a drawer, not as low and easer to get washing in and out. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a bigger machine. http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/home ... returnurl= ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 14Mar 27, 2011 12:19 pm I recently bought a front loader with the highest WELS and Energy ratings. Here's a list of different manufacturers with varying ratings http://www.savewater.com.au/products/Washing_machines Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 15Mar 30, 2011 2:05 pm I have an Electrolux and I hate it. Definitely wouldn't recommend. I love my Asko dishwasher so much I would happily buy one of their washers, maybe when mine dies (or I kill it) Lisa- Finally in our house!!! Recommend me a Front Loader......please 16Mar 30, 2011 2:32 pm We have an combined washer drier. Love the washer itself but not practical to have as the only drier. Ended up buying a separate drier last year. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 17Apr 04, 2011 6:59 am We have an Asko that must now be getting close to 10 years old. It is still in excellent condition. We appreciate the fast spin speeds: on the weekend I placed a load of washing on an internal line, under the ceiling fan, and it was dry in a few hours - no need for a dryer! Pfiff Finally making progress again, with a clothesline (yippee) and some much needed little things being attended to over the holidays. 40 C on New Year's eve? We love our a/c! Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 19Apr 05, 2011 12:02 am My bosch machine moves violently when it starts the spin cycle...unbalanced clothes inside, but it's not like I can open it to rearrange them, being a front loader. My worry is that when we move into our new place, the laundry has a glass sliding door, and the machine will be right beside...I don't want the glass to smash when the machine does the fandango! My question is, do any of the above front loaders mentioned have greater stability in an unbalanced wash? Re: Recommend me a Front Loader......please 20Apr 05, 2011 12:17 am Hi RosyPaige, You mention the German made Bosch, I believe the only washing machines that Bosch make in Germany are the 8kg and all the other Bosch washing machine models are made in Thailand - so if you choose a smaller machine I would go for a European made one rather than the Bosch. I know almost every appliance brand now outsources one thing or another to Asia, but I think there is a definite difference in quality with the items that are made in Europe. Get some long brass machine screws and bolt right through the gate and put brass acorn nuts and washers on the other side. It will never come off 1 9249 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7658 |
