Browse Forums Laundry 1 Jan 04, 2016 7:00 am I was originally thinking each bedroom would have a small toilet/shower/wash basin. I have also always loved the idea of a 2 way bathroom. So same sex siblings share a normal size bathroom situated between their bedrooms. My only concern being they'd have to lock / unlock both doors each time for privacy. At some point common sense would prevail and if they heard running water they'd know the other was showering. The toilet would need a door or privacy screen of some sort. I would still prefer a small en suite in each room but cost wise I think the shared would be a better option. Thoughts? Re: Bathrooms en suite Vs Shared 2 way bathrooms 2Jan 04, 2016 7:12 am I'd say a dual one where the rooms are used by guests. We have a 2nd BR with its own ensuite - shower, toilet sink etc - reasonable size. SO GLAD we did it. Our son loves it. We also have a separate "powder" room with sink. Its well worth checking before build to see the cost. It surprised me how low it was. But - do a decent one - ie not cramped. Re: Bathrooms en suite Vs Shared 2 way bathrooms 3Jan 04, 2016 3:46 pm Thanks Mike. Yes definitely agree to do a decent size one. Otherwise I imagine it'd be a pain to use and keep clean. I think as children grow they'd really appreciate it - glad it worked so well for you and your son. The cost was my concern as bathrooms always seem to be big money!
