The days of needing to have all your cable and pipes running above the counter tops are over people! Long live u bends in plumbing and hole saws for cabinetry! This is my laundry: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The first thing people look for is the cables to "hook it up" ... these are not props...they are real! Even when facing straight on it is near impossible to tell where the cables are. The one that usually hangs in the hole beside the sink in most laundry troughs! Not anymore! A couple of well placed 50mm holes with a hole saw and some pre planning with the electrical helps too! Great set up, when I went through the new house I must admit I had to search for the taps!! Told DH a new washer and dryer were needed for the set up!! Paula Re: Laundry pipes and power cables 6May 11, 2008 8:09 pm This is what I love about this forum! Everyone sharing their little secrets so complete novices like me can add it to our list of additions! I hadn't seen this before, as most display laundrys just have the trough and no other cupboards and options (well, the ones I have looked in!).
This is a brilliant way to keep eveything looking minimal and neat (very much lacking in my current box), and I will most definitely be asking for concealed taps, waste and power points in the laundry....love it!! Currently we have a door to the garage to the right of the picture that is left open when the dryer is running. I haven't vented this unit as it doesn't have a rear vent (its 146 years old!!!!) but if and when it gives up the ghost I will install a unit with a rear vent kit! Nevermind, I can live with that.
