Browse Forums Laundry 1 Jun 27, 2012 11:42 am Hi helpful members, Our new laundry is L shaped with the longest part of the bench running 2.4m and the short side being 1.8m. The laundry tub is at the end of the 2.4m. There are overhead cupboards in the corner running the lenght of the 1.8m and 1.8m along the longer wall. We were always going to tile the full splashback (300x600 tiles) area even though the majority of it isn't near the sink, but someone has suggested that we only really need to tile near the sink and should paint the rest. What is everyone's thoughts on whether the splashback should be tiled or whether you would be happy to have your splashback painted gyprock? Part of the question is about the look, but I'm more keen for feedback on functionality. Thanks for your help. Re: Should a laundry splashback be tiled or painted 5Jun 29, 2012 7:17 am Functionally, you only need to tile immediately around the sink - and that's the way it was usually done up until fairly recently. Aesthetically, I'd rather tile the full bench area - but that's entirely your choice.
