Hi All,
Just wondering how practical is putting microwave under the bench top as compare to in tower? Is it annoying to bend, any feedback please?
Thanks

Is it annoying to bend, any feedback please? I guess it depends on how much you use it and how good your back is. We find it no trouble at all, but we only use the microwave to heat basic foods and drinks, and occasionally defrost, and we are fit middle-aged people. I lived in a house for 20 years with the microwave in a tower and I have found the under bench one in the new house no problem at all. DB Re: Microwave Position 6Sep 14, 2018 11:16 am I prefer under the bench. must easier to lift something up. I currently have a microwave in the tower and it makes it quite difficult to get things in and out having to lift them and when they are hot and you cant see in easily etc. It is also quite dangerous pulling things out, hot liquids for example as you are pulling them out almost at head level making it hard to maneuver safely down. Completely agree with this. We have under bench in new house, and previously came from a rental with it at about head height (I'm short so shoulders for most people). I think about bench height is probably ideal for me, but I'd rather bend than be trying to lift hot stuff down. I'm surprised that all the feedback so far is positive, most people I spoke to when we were planning seemed horrified by the thought of having to bend to use the microwave . Bench space over a tower won out for me. Re: Microwave Position 8Sep 14, 2018 9:48 pm bank Ashleigh I prefer under the bench. must easier to lift something up. My preference is for them to be installed above the oven, but at a height that I can see into it without bending or stretching. That is, the bottom of the mw a little below my shoulder height. I really don't want a face full of steam when getting something out from under the bench, and I can't see to program times and oven settings when it is low. Each to their own, of course, but higher works well for me, and I use a microwave a lot. Variegated Re: Microwave Position 10Sep 14, 2018 10:15 pm Variegated I hate underbench for microwaves.
