Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Aug 29, 2017 7:49 pm Hi, We have selections coming up soon, so need to make a decision on our ovens. I do not want a 900 oven as I don't want that much oven in one and would prefer to have 2 so I have the option to cook at different temperatures or just to heat up a small oven when I only have something small to heat up. The options I am looking at are 2x 600 Smeg ovens which are 79L capacity or Smeg double oven which has a 79 and a 41L capacity. We have the option in our kitchen to either do a wall mount or undermount oven What would you prefer and why? TIA Re: Double oven or two ovens 2Sep 01, 2017 8:15 pm Think both options is goid Will depend on what you are comfortable with. Double iven might be easier to install but 2 separate ones might be easier to fix up or replace in future I only have one oven and then one of those thats on the bench (see through glass) that can bake/roast/cook Depending what i want to make between the two its doing great Re: Double oven or two ovens 4Sep 02, 2017 10:01 am we currently have a freestanding and i don't like bending over to get stuff in and out - so sounds like wall mount would be the better option. good idea on setting it up to have one that is more for grilling - thanks Re: Double oven or two ovens 5Sep 02, 2017 12:31 pm I went from a freestanding 900mm to 2 x combi steam and 1 x pyro wall mount. I've never looked back it so lovely not having to bend down HS practically sit on the floor to peer into the oven viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Double oven or two ovens 6Sep 02, 2017 2:03 pm ooh - i'd love a steam oven and a pyro oven - think might be out of our price range though. Re: Double oven or two ovens 8Jun 27, 2018 3:03 pm We have had both. I changed a single oven that was about to burn the house down to a full double oven which was equal size top and bottom. Only disadvantage I found was that the bottom oven had less cooking options than the top oven, something to check out if you go down this path. Recently I have changed this oven to a Siemens pyro oven and a 45L combi steam cooktop with a warmer drawer underneath it. This fits inside the same footprint as the old double oven. This method has given us a lot more flexibility as we have a small oven for the two of us, and everything for when the tribe is around. Hope this helps. Re: Double oven or two ovens 12Jun 15, 2020 9:34 pm One benefit if you have the kitchen space of having two is they could be side by side and have both at the perfect height, if you have a double then you are somewhat comprimising on the perfect height for one or both of them. one thing I'd love is a pair of dishwashers in the pantry, running two loads a day gets old Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
