I am finalising the kitchen layout and design for our new build. Originally I thought I'd include the upgrade to integrated dishwasher through the builder, but it seems quite expensive so am now thinking we'll buy our own. The dishwasher is on the end of the bench before going into the pantry and is visible from the dining area, hence trying to make it blend in.
I'm planning to have a finished bench height of 920mm with 40mm stone tops, so 880mm under bench height. Having a quick look online it seems 820mm or 860mm seems to be the standard heights? How does this work?
Also, if we do end up getting an integrated dishwasher what do I need to plan for? Do they sit on top of the kickboard framing or are they freestanding? Do I need to buy a matching kitchen door for the front and would the builder (a large volume builder) be likely to add that?
Half of me says it's easier to get them to include it and they work it all out, but the upgrade is almost twice the price I could buy one from Good Guys. Is that because of the kitchen cupboard door etc?
Thanks.
