Depending on your kitchen design, do you aesthetically feel the canopy, under mounted, etc. will suit? Personally I won't say one rangehood type is better than the other, as they all have their pros and cons. Again, branding is personal preference, maybe a Smeg rangehood to match your Smeg oven. The more expensive brands (Qasir, Schweigen from my experience) are much quieter and suck a lot more (in the good sense) than the cheap brands. Current place replaced the Whirlpool that came with the house with a Schweigen. Basically went from something where there was no point turning it on, to a rangehood that can be on full power and virtually unable to be heard.
