Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Mar 13, 2017 12:15 pm Hi All We are in the process of renovating our kitchen. Originally our tradie was going to research some new appliances for us and purchase them from his wholesaler (??) but eBay has 20% off loads of stuff for the next 10 days with the voucher code CYBER. I'm a bit sceptical buying off eBay but its seems lots of the big retailers sell on there and you click and collect in store eg Betta Electrical. I've gone down to our local Betta store and the salesman wouldn't match the online price :\ Are there any pitfalls I need to be wary of buying like this? I'm just afraid if one of my appliances breaks years down the road, i'll have to go through eBay for proof-of-purchase for warranty proceedings. Re: Buying appliances off eBay? 2Mar 13, 2017 12:47 pm If you buy from the big retailers, I'm pretty sure they still have to provide the same warranty as in store. I've purchased a fridge from ebay and had no issues getting a warranty fix (water dispenser died) from the retailer I got it from. EBay doesn't look after the warranty, PayPal can offer you some buyer protection but for a limited time. Buy from a reputable source and you will be fine. If your worried send the seller a message to confirm the warranty terms and keep the correspondence for future reference if a dispute occurs.
