Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Aug 19, 2015 9:56 pm Hi, I need a tip/advice here. I am renovating my apartment and looking for a whole new range of kitchen appliances. My architect and designer are recommending Fisher & Paykel appliances with the detail as per below. Any review or advice on any of these appliances would be extremely useful to me as I almost have zero experience with kitchen appliances and this is my first time renovating the place. 1) Over+cooktop: Fisher & Paykel Freestanding Dual Fuel Cooker (OR60SDBGFX2) -- I only found 1-2 review on this model and it doesn't sound good. Most people suggest to go for the built-in oven and separated cooktop. Is there any view on this? 2) Fridge: Fisher & Paykel 60cm Fully Integrated Refrigerator (RB60V18) 3) Dishwasher: Fisher & Paykel Integrated Single DishDrawer (DD60D17) -- It only me and my husband in the apartment so they recommend the dish drawer instead as it will save space and fit our level of usage better 4) Washing machine: Fisher & Paykel WashSmart 8.5kg (WH8560P1) 5) Dryer: Fisher & Paykel 8kg Condensing Dryer (DE8060P2) Thank you in advance for all of your kind help and suggestion. Re: Kitchen appliance recommendation 2Aug 20, 2015 1:55 pm When we were looking at appliances Fisher and Paykel wasn't particularly high on our list of preferences. The advantage of a freestanding cooker is that it is easily replaced when it's no longer worth trying to fix it. They also tend to make better use of the space than separate oven and cooktop, often giving tray storage / warming tray under the oven, rather than just wasting the space in joinery. The downsides of freestanding are that you can drop things between the oven and cabinets, and also replacing the oven is more expensive as you need to replace the full unit, rather than just the oven. 600mm wide freestanding tends to look a bit cheap too. The integrated fridge would worry me a bit, with the thought of trying to find another one that fits into the space when it fails. If it's as standard size across several manufacturers then it should be ok. Re: Kitchen appliance recommendation 3Aug 20, 2015 2:41 pm Thank you very much oneJohn. I will definitely take this into account. I think i will look into different brands as well to make sure i get the good quality/value ones. Re: Kitchen appliance recommendation 4Aug 20, 2015 9:06 pm I have had a 900mm freestanding. This kitchen I am going three 600mm build ins. I like the idea of being able to do a roast in one and bake a cake in another at different temperatures. While we're talking have you looked at combi-steams they are pretty amazing. In the end we went v-zug (similar to a neff) a couple of combi steams and a pyro - good luck <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Kitchen appliance recommendation 5Aug 21, 2015 5:05 pm I wanted a dishwasher with drawers and everything I have read online says stay away from F&P. also have asked lots of sales consultants and they all tell me to stay away M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Kitchen appliance recommendation 6Aug 24, 2015 4:37 am AKB I have had a 900mm freestanding. Well I went shopping after a 'happy lunch' I bought two combi steams because I had a problem going from a 900mm oven to the small combi steams. We went with a pyro so we could have crackle (I'm hopping the boys will recover from the great bacon debacle of 2013). We don't have a microwave at the moment and tend to use the regeneration on the combi steam instead. Ps after using the combi steam to do pork belly and crackle I don't think the pyro is necessary Re: Kitchen appliance recommendation 10Aug 25, 2015 3:21 am AKB Leksie5000 AKB I have had a 900mm freestanding.
