Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Dec 29, 2013 10:54 pm Loving this forum, great threads, opinions and advice. We are renovating a twenty year old wood cabinet, Tasmanian oak (?) kitchen, I like the wood so we are changing the bench tops, sink, splashback and most importantly the appliances. So . . . . . Opinions welcomed on make and models for: functional oven for everyday cooking and baking steam oven or combi steam oven pyrolytic oven- worth the extra or would money be better spent on the steam oven if I can't stretch to both??? many thanks in advance for any comments Re: Opinions on oven and steam/combi oven please 2Dec 30, 2013 8:35 am My advice - just get a decent sized oven - not one of those little things. Good brand with stop/start facility. SMEG, W/house, Electrolux are a few I like. You will also be limited to 250C max temperature, whereas most pyros will go up to 280C or 300C, and will likely be less expensive than a combi-steam. We have both (in V-Zug), but find we use the combi-steam much more, as it's faster, but use the pyro for pizza. Re: Opinions on oven and steam/combi oven please 6Jan 19, 2014 8:11 pm i say get them all! if you can go for V-Zug they are the best i love their steam combi. i have been using their 45x60 and think that there is lots of room to have two or three trays in there with the combi ovens you don't what different things cooking or baking in there at the same time with the V-Zug their water tank is on the outside of the oven unlike others, which gives you more room in the oven and can add more water while using the oven Re: Opinions on oven and steam/combi oven please 7Jan 20, 2014 9:43 am 2-cupcakes-pls if you can go for V-Zug they are the best I don't know if they are the best, but certainly we got them because the interior is smooth SS, which is easier to clean than the textured interior of the Miele. If you haven't tried it yet, combi steam bake is magic; did a 2kg leg of lamb last night in 45 minutes at 180C, with steam enabled for the first 10. Did the pumpkins for a salad at the same time. Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 1162 2 3910 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven.
