But to be honest our BBQ plate gets quite grotty. I don't think I'd want to clean it in my kitchen sink carting it across household flooring. In the case of the OP they are asking if we think it's ok to go for a larger sink eg laundry size/type for an outdoor kitchen. My response is GO FOR IT! I use grills rather than plates (did have a half and half, and the plate always looked bad), and after one of the barbecue places showed me how to clean it after every use, have not had to take it in to clean. In the nearly 2 years since we've hd this barbecue, I've recently pressure washed it, more because of the soot from smoking with woodchips. As for the laundry sink outdoor, I was just pointing out there are sinks available that are as wide or wider than a laundry tub, but half to 2/3 the depth if bending is a concern.
