Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Apr 18, 2008 6:23 pm Hi everyone,
We were thinking of asking the builder for Miele kitchen appliances (rangehood, oven/gas stove, dishwasher) Is anyone using Miele? How do you find your appliances? E.g. Rangehood: do you find it easy to clean, is it noisy? Any issues? How about costs? Are they a lot more expensive? Thanks Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 2Apr 18, 2008 7:49 pm Hi Dreamhome,
We have Miele appliances in the house we will move into in just over 4 weeks. We have done our research and are very pleased we are getting them. Be warned they are not cheap. A friend has them and LOVES them, she has the glass rangehood and says it does not get greasy at all. I have just ordered a washer and dryer and have the current price list in front of me. If you have chosen a product I will be happy to tell you the RRP. (bit to much to scan and post 7 pages!) Im hoping they live up to the reputation! Paula Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 3Apr 18, 2008 8:53 pm Paula, Don't stress you will love the washer and dryer... one of the best things we have every bought. We do a lot of wok cooking and i wonder if the glass rangehoods are powerful enough for all the sometimes greasy and smelly stirfries or deep fry? Cheers Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 8Apr 18, 2008 11:16 pm Hi,
We have also ordered Miele appliances for the kitchen. We chose these after months of research, others that we looked at closely were Smeg, Ariston (builders range), Blanco, Westinghouse & Kleenmaid. We even went to product demonstrations at Miele & Blanco. What finally sold us was the Design, Finish Quality and ease of use. As previously mentioned they are a bit more expensive than the other brands mentioned and unfortunately we found that retail stores would not do deals on Miele appliances however if you buy certain dollar amounts Meile have a current promotion that rebates between 5 & 7.5% The appliances we went for are:- OVEN http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 INDUCTION COOKTOP http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 RANGEHOOD http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 STEAM OVEN http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 COMBI SET http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 COFFEE MACHINE http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 PLATE WARMER http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 DISHWASHER http://www.miele.com.au/products/view_p ... domestic=1 I would recomend that you visit the Miele Gallery in Scoresby they are very helpful Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 10Apr 18, 2008 11:21 pm WOW....with that impressive list...I hope they were helpful... very noice mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 11Apr 19, 2008 11:24 pm martyme Hi, We have also ordered Miele appliances for the kitchen. What is the difference between the oven and the steam oven? Also, would you mind indicating what the price was for the oven, rangehood and dishwasher. We want to get gas stove instead of induction. Thanks Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 12Apr 22, 2008 12:25 am The difference is that the steam oven is used for steam cooking and the normal oven for conventional baking, roasting, grilling etc.
The oven that we chose was $4699 rangehood $2500 dishwasher $1852 [/quote] Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 13Apr 22, 2008 8:26 am Quote: The oven that we chose was $4699 rangehood $2500 dishwasher $1852 Thank god the previous owner of our new home put them in, at those prices I think I would have had trouble convincing DH to get them.. Originally when we submitted our wish list to the builder they wanted to charge us 22k for only the Oven, Steam oven, Gas hotplate, Rangehood & Coffee machine! This mean't that not only where they proposing to charge us close a 20% premium to upgrade to Miele appliances but they would also pocket the Miele discount as well!
After much haggling and threatening to take our business elswhere they finally agreed to the Miele appliances at regular retail + Miele discount. Altough they will charge $150 for the installation of each additional appliance other than the oven, rangehood and hotplate. As to why we wish to spend so much I guess it comes down to the fact that my wife loves cooking and spends hours in the kitchen so hopefully she will get the full benefit of this gear and of course it means that she cannot begrudge me my Home Theatre!!!! No need to justify why you are spending so much on your appliances It's your money, IMO spent well! I sent my wife on a holiday to melb markets, and I got a new computer Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 20Apr 28, 2008 6:58 pm We've gone for Miele ovens only (2 pyrolitics and a microwave).
I believe most mid to upper-mid range appliance manufacturers have a sweet spot appliance and I believe Miele's is ovens and probably non-gas cooktops. We have a gas cooktop and have gone with ILVE. My personal opinion is the Miele dishwashers are a little overrated but where else are you going to get a cutlery drawer? We went for AEG (just, over a Miele). The Miele decor rangehoods aren't that powerful compared to a few others on the market (unless you buy Miele's gigantic ugly box rangehoods) but they look great. That said, the rangehoods are probably powerful enough for 90-95% of cooking. We went with an ILVE B2 Crystal rangehood for the extra extraction power and it looks almost as nice as a Miele. Hi All, we are starting to think of building with Masterpiece Builders in Victoria, has anyone had any feedback or experience with them 0 13603 Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently. We have signed mid range built contract but identified that a lot of things are not included.… 0 743 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15284 |
