Miele no longer make the cooktop we have but the 24034 is the closest to it. We do a fair bit of wok cooking and prefer gas. The only complaint is the weight of the iron trivets makes cleaning them an exercise in bodybuilding. The new models seem to have lighter trivets. http://www.miele.com.au/au/domestic/pro ... _24034.htm The miele oven is great. It is so well insulated that the glass door generates very little heat. No chance of accidently burning oneself. And the lining of the oven, and the oven trays use this "perfectclean' enamel which is fantastic! We'd definitely go with Miele ovens and cooktops in the future, despite their price. Miele has a very good showroom in South Melbourne. The Qasar rangehood is fantastic and would recommend it over a Miele rangehood. A relative recommended Qasar as well Building in Harvest Lakes, Atwell (Perth) status: design phase with builder Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 37May 16, 2009 7:54 pm ![]() Do all Miele ovens come with the self cleaning option? learnt quite a bit about their ovens this morning at the Miele Gallery... about your question... Its an optional item in regards to the self cleaning. Meaning, you can choose ovens without this function. The price difference is approx $1k. i think we are tuned towards: (a) Oven - Miele (b) Steam Oven - Miele (c) Dishwasher - Miele or Asko (have not seen Asko yet) (d) Cooktop - likely not to be a Miele (e) Rangehood - likely to be a QASAR Building in Harvest Lakes, Atwell (Perth) status: design phase with builder Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 38May 16, 2009 9:31 pm ![]() ![]() We have a miele gas cooktop, oven and a Qasar rangehood, and are very happy with all of them. The Qasar rangehood is fantastic and would recommend it over a Miele rangehood. thanks!! which Qasar rangehood is this? A relative recommended Qasar as well We got the LCM 1500 Federation rangehood. Its a BIG rangehood. 1500mm wide. It is wonderful. Qasair have an amazing range (forgive the pun) of rangehoods. We looked at the range of Qasairs at Elite Appliances in Canterbury Rd, Surrey Hills, Victoria. But we got a discount through a relative who is an architect, from Buy Rite in Richmond. This was about 5 years ago. "The LCM rangehood is made with the switches underneath and the standard maximum height is 500mm. single motor rangehood has 3 switches, twin & triple motor rangehood has 5 switches. the rangehood is available with 1, 2 or 3 motors." http://www.qasair.com.au/images/spec_sh ... ec_Fed.pdf Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 39May 17, 2009 11:39 am We have the Miele range hood. It is 600mm as we only have a 600mm cooktop. The range hood is fantastic. VERY quiet and efficient. Our kitchen is open plan so a noisy range hood would drive us crazy. I can't fault it. We bought it around November I think, so it would be a recent design. The trick with a range hood is to make sure that the big tube thing that runs through the centre of the unit is as straight as possible so that the air doesn't have to bump around in the unit. Ours is ducted outside which makes a big difference too. Re: Anyone has Miele kitchen appliances? 40May 17, 2009 11:48 am ![]() We have the Miele range hood.
