Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Sep 24, 2012 5:41 pm Hi, I am currently looking for some advice on kitchen appliances and wondering if anyone has any reviews for me on Technika appliances (oven, cook top, range-hood, dishwasher) I have googled it and haven't found much. I am yet to find out how much the builder gives you a credit for if you supply your own appliances. Any help? Thanks Re: Builders range Technika appliances? Or get rebate? 2Sep 24, 2012 10:54 pm Hi Just_Me, We have used Technika. In our first build we had techika oven, cooktop, range and dishwasher. For cooking, they were basic but did the job, never had any problems with them. It was 10 years ago and I wasn't much of a cook at that stage! The dishwasher was sensational - we loved it. In our second build, we had technika oven, cooktop, range and dishwasher. Again, cooking was fine. Never had any problems with any of it. Dishwasher was a newer model than our previous one and actually was a little disappointing, never seemed to dry that well. Now, our third build we have gone with a technika oven. We liked the look and we got it for a good price so decided to spend the extra dollars on our cooktop and range instead. Only used it a few times and so far so good. Would not have had a problem using it again for cooktop and range but was looking more at styling this time and found others we liked better. Not everyone will agree with me but we have not had any issues with Technika. Having said that we have never used one long term so can't comment on long term use. Good luck. Building is such a balance of what you want, need and can afford!!! Re: Builders range Technika appliances? Or get rebate? 3Sep 24, 2012 11:27 pm Hi Just me, we put a technika oven in our reno about 8 years ago now, and while not flash with all the bells and whistles just like rocketship it never missed a beat and cooked really well. I had more complaints about our big falsh Ariston in our last build and it cost 4xtimes what my technika did. Goodluck Builders range Technika appliances? Or get rebate? 4Sep 25, 2012 12:27 am I've got technika appliances and they are fine so far. I'm not huge cook but they are fine for everyday use! Rangehood died about 3 months ago and they sent technician out to fix which involved pulling it off wall etc, he said that's most common call out for him. Depending on your builder they offer different warranty lengths. With BGC we got 2 or 3 yrs I think but generally it's not as long The road to success is always under construction House completed April 2011 - slowly making it a home... Re: Builders range Technika appliances? Or get rebate? 5Feb 12, 2013 10:23 pm I cook a lot and the two year old Technika in our place works great. There have been a few quirks - the clock looses about a minute a week... and the range fan buttons sometimes have a mind of their own (press the + and it decides to - etc.) but nothing major. They are top of the line, but I am not sure you could do too much better with the builder's rebate -- how much would they rebate? Or get rebate? 6Feb 12, 2013 10:28 pm Our builder provides Technika appliances. I considered asking for a rebate and then sourcing my own appliances but I figured I'd just wait until they died as there are other things I'd rather spend my money on which are things that are harder/more expensive to change later eg. Tiling, kitchen cabinet finishes, sinks etc. Custom downslope build Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61873 Blog http://www.buildingroyalmanor.blogspot.com.au Re: Builders range Technika appliances?
