Sorry I did not provide the model number of the rangehood that I was after more information. As you have found out is HU-9UM. Are both UM-900MS or UM1170-9SP available in the single motor 1600m3 version? Is there a big price difference? UM-900MS - http://www.harveynorman.com.au/schweige ... ehood.html - $1198 - I believe so, you might want to clarify with HN or schweigen. UM1170-9SP is the 1600m3 model and my builder quoted to supply only - $1827 (in lieu of builders std), it will be around that price at harvey norman or spartan electrical (got quoted $1860). Found my chat transcript with the schweigen sales: The UM-900MS is made from a lower grade of steel compared to the UM1170-9S. As you mentioned the UM-900MS only has 3 speeds. (11:47:56) Haley: The UM-900MS has aluminum filters where the UM1170-9S has mesh filters. (11:48:41) Haley: Basically, the UM-900MS is a cheaper version of the UM1170-9S with less functions (11:50:36) Visitor 70114650: I saw the UM1170-9SP (1600m3) at a showroom and I can not 'feel' or heard the exhaust from speeds 1 to 3. The sales rep told me to run it at speeds 4 to 5 during cooking. I asked if that will wear out the motor sooner and he said now. (11:50:42) Visitor 70114650: *No. (11:52:47) Haley: Yes that is correct. Speeds 4 and 5 are usually used during heavy cooking. Speeds 1 to 3 are used for basic style/ regular cooking. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 2085 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven. It's personal preferance 5 10879 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5745 |
