Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Nov 29, 2011 10:58 pm I had decided on an AEG combination oven at $4999 however, I was concerened that it would not be sufficient for us. I love cooking and we have a large family. I am really keen on a steam oven so I decided on having 2 ovens, one steam one convection. I would need to purchase a drawer so that that they would match in size as they will be side by side. Problem is the AEG steam oven and convection oven display panels do not match - the sales person pointed it out to me. The Miele ovens do and it looks so much better. I was not that keen on Miele as they do not offer a 5 year warranty like AEG and Siemmens. I don't think Siemmens have just a steam oven only combination so purhcasing 2 Siemmens ovens is just too expensive. AEG do have a compact convection that matches nicely with their steam oven but with both having a capacity of 32 lts I think just too small and perhaps such a small oven is not good from a resell perspective. I think I have answered my question by writing it down, Miele is the way to go.... but I am interested to know of anyones experiences in these products and my idea of two ovens and is steam the way to go? I do like the Miele induction cooktop and dishwasher and believe the quality is excellent so perhaps 5 year warranty is not an issue. Re: Miele, Siemmens & AEG - steam oven or convection or buy 2Nov 30, 2011 10:28 pm hehe Lamb, You sound like me, I have a thread on here Siemens or Miele! Deciding between steam or convection steam, one or two ovens, microwave or convection microwave I too prefer the Siemens over the Miele due to warranty. I have read a lot about the steam ovens and it appears that most companies are now moving from making a straight steam to a convection steam as they are not as usable as a convection steam. I have found price wise that the siemens convection steam + oven isnt that much more than the Miele straight steam and oven, (although I have also looked at a microwave, so my costs are inlcusive of that) I was actually looking at getting oven/steamer/microwave and 2 warming drawers to have a bank of 3 the Siemens by far was my favourite on looks and also the siemens have telescopic runners where as Miele charge $200 for runners. Oh and to throw another spanner in the works have you looked at V-Zug? their price was comparable to the Miele and Siemens. Oh and as for dishwashers, i was going to buy the Miele due to reliabilty, but have since read that the Siemens just came out on top in Choice So now I am thinking maybe I should buy the Siemens dishwasher Re: Miele, Siemmens & AEG - steam oven or convection or buy 3Dec 07, 2011 8:51 pm Thanks gogo65 for reply. To be honest I have been visiting Homeone for years conducting research (we are on our second build in a couple of years ) however, just recently decided to post... I think I have decided on two AEG ovens, one steam combination at $4999 and another basic model (has telescopic runners) at around $2000. AEG have 5 year warranty - I agree ... I just like the idea of a co. that backs their products with an extended warranty. I am keeping my basic microwave and this is going in my walk in pantry(to save a few $$ and keep a streamline look in my kitchen). I think a bank of three looks stunning....I thought about it but I just want to get the house finished and as close to budget as possible! I really like the AEG induction cook top as it (similar to Miele) has a substantial metal trim, my research suggest this reduces the likelihood of chipping the cook top. I love cooking but I am a messy cook and certainly not a graceful cook! Bonus if I spend over 10K on AEG I get 10% discount. I am definitely heading towards a Siemmens d/w - again research and warranty put it ahead of the Miele. Finally I have also posted issues with rangehood and I have decided on a commercial integrated Sirius. I might pay one more trip to E & S to check out the Siemmens ovens, but I have been there so often I think the sales people run! I have not checked out V-Zug - stockist? I can't recall seeing them at E & S, Harvey Norman, Good Guys though I have certainly seem the name pop up on this forum. Anyway sincere thanks..... Re: Miele, Siemmens & AEG - steam oven or convection or buy 4Dec 07, 2011 9:55 pm Hi Lamb, Great you finally made the decision I am not a big cook, my kitchen will be purely for looks We thought about the qasair rangehood but at the end of the day, it wasnt a big issue for us, so we are going with the asko undermount. I dont want a canopy, been there done that, too much dust We saw the v-zug at designer homewares in Chatswood, Sydney, not sure where you are. Hope that helps Re: Miele, Siemmens & AEG - steam oven or convection or buy 5Dec 08, 2011 1:51 am I think V-zug is currently having a promotion of bonus 5 year warranty till end of this year (not many days left!) And the best thing is their control panel will match regradless what models you want to put together. Quality wise they're similar to Miele or sometimes even better (and more expensive). See this link: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/about-the-appliance-industry/manufacturer-information/3208-v-zug-appliances.html Siemens is not bad but it's just like the expensive version of Bosch with longer warranty. In Europe Siemens and Aeg are in similar price range while Miele and Vzug are in a higher price range. Just google those brands in google.co.uk and you'll see the differences: Siemens mid-range pyrolytic oven price in UK: http://www.appliance-world.co.uk/Siemens_HB75RB550B_Pyrolytic+Single+Oven.html Miele basic pyrolytic oven in UK: http://www.appliance-world.co.uk/MIELE_H5240BP+SS_Pyrolytic+Single+Oven.html Vzug pyrolytic oven price in UK: http://www.housetohome.co.uk/articles/news/Combair_SLP_oven_from_V-ZUG_530279.html I guess in Australia any European brands can be regarded as premium so it's hard to choose while in Europe there are millions of European brands and they know what is good or bad. Re: Miele, Siemmens & AEG - steam oven or convection or buy 6Dec 08, 2011 4:46 pm In the same boat, and ended up with the V-Zug XLS combi-steam and their normal pyro oven; that way we hope to use mainly the combi-steam (45L), but when we need more space, we can use the pyro as well at 68L. Just a note for those contemplating the combi-steam; the V-Zug XLS is rated for 35Amp!
