Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Sep 25, 2011 10:20 pm Was going to purchase Bosch, but I dont like the metallic strip around them.... wondering whether it gets dirty and/or scratches over time. Westinghouse PHN768U and Delonghi DTCH60B and Omega oC65TA all scored well in the recent choice review, and they dont have that metal strip. Which brand should I buy? Any suggestions? Other brands? What about their rangehoods? Re: Electric cooktop and retractable rangehood - good brands 2Sep 29, 2011 10:30 pm I can only say about the rangehoods, we purchased a bosch, but before we did we went into Harvey Normal and other electrical appliance stores with displays and tried all of them to find one we like the price of and one that was quiet. You definitely pay for a quieter rangehood. Our last one was built in and noisy it was a Westinghouse, so I was determined to purchase a quiet one. But never had issues with cleaning it. You clean (wipe it down) every time you use your stove, like you do with your stove. The rangehood also came with a white front to change it from stainless steel to white. We also looked for one that the filters could come out easily (tried them at the stores) and we also looked for easiness of changing a light bulb. These were both issues I had with our previous one. With the cook tops we also looked at a few and found a configuration that we were happy about. I wish now I had a hob for 1 or 2 induction cook tops. You can go to Harvey Norman and attend a cooking class where they will cook with the appliances that you want to buy, we did that, and the other lady there in the class was buying an induction cook top and I was amazed. hubby, kids and me all waiting for the Amberlea Site Cut 27 September 2011 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46637 http://www.dscml.com/ Thank you fro your response, Simeon.
