I've not really looked at the other options because my builder just supplies 40mm ceaserstone as standard. If there is a problem with installing the flushmount into ceaserstone then maybe I will look at the other options. Will wait and see what Abey/barazza say about the cooktop in ceaserstone Re: Flush mount cooktop 26Aug 10, 2011 12:45 pm I was reinforcing your statement "ad infinitum". My little jest was merely in support of the fact that this concept had been discussed "ad nauseum" and I couldn't agree more with you... Marble IS NOT APPROPRIATE for a heavy work area such as a kitchen, which I and many others including SUH ^ ^ ^ have mentioned on many previous occasions. Cheers, Earl Oh ok, that works for me Re: Flush mount cooktop 28Aug 15, 2011 6:44 pm Could be their worried about chipping at the cut out, as there is nothing to hide it and you can't bevel the edge or pencil round it or anything to mask chips. Re: Flush mount cooktop 29Nov 29, 2011 2:45 pm Chrisandkate - Granite & Marble are natural stones which can have "air pockets" in them - Which means it is not recommended to put anything boiling or freezing on the bench as it could crack for both Granite & Marble. With a man made stone you do have more strength - Be careful of copy brands which dont make it as good. I would go for Ceasar stone over Granite - As you also need to polish/maintain granite more and it isnt as strong as a material. I have worked with a lot of Barazza cooktops for customers and never had an issue - You can also just Inset them instead of routering the stone which needs to be done 100% perfectly. Miele also have 2 flushmount cooktops - Completely flush for the stone to be routered and the second has a slight lip. The Barazza are a little more flush but both brands are beautiful cooktops. AG Thanks AG, After further discussion we also were recommended to inset the cooktop rather than flushmount, when I looked at winnings I couldnt tell the difference, they explained the barazza was in fact inset which looked fantastic, they then showed us a fully flush Smeg which had been routered very badly and the finished look was terrible. We are now getting the matching inset barazza/abey sink Re: Flush mount cooktop 31Nov 30, 2011 10:10 am Installation if very much the key to stone. I would also keep in mind that inset barazza sinks will have scracthes around the surround. Also if when splash water or make a mess you wont be able to wipe back into the bowl like an Undermount sink which is better to use. You will in fact always be wiping into the edge of the sink. Saying that the match profile of cooktop & sinks will look very good. The unit normally clips into a metal plate screwed to the wall, either plate is not flush, or unit not hooked in and could be hanging from the pipes partly, either might… 2 15787 Okay, then the choice is really about the build quality of the door itself which means the brand name. Sorry I can't recommend one or the other so best to rely on comments… 5 3259 Hi there, looking to have a gym in a new build.
