Looks great, easy to clean, rapid heating, good low temperature control, safe (no gas or overly hot surfaces). All good. If I had to be super critical the only slightly annoying thing is thatit buzzes at times. You can hear it going on and off at medium settings. Nothing of too much concern. Mine only buzz's when it on power boost. But this may be dependent on the cookery. I am using an electrolux. It is made in germany so I reckon its good value for money. I originally choose it because all elements are equal and work the same. Most other brand have different power allocated to different element. The down side is you need to over dimension you cable thickness, to be able to work when all four are on boost even though I can not see this happening in practical terms. Re: for those with induction cooktops 4Apr 04, 2011 1:07 pm B STAR . Most other brand have different power allocated to different element. Sorry don't quite understand this B Star?? Re: for those with induction cooktops 5Apr 04, 2011 1:08 pm You have 4 elements/burners etc. On many brands the all 4 have different max settings Burner 1 may be 2000watts Burner 2 may be 3500watts Burner 3 may be 1700watts burner four may be 2000watts. So they are all different. Re: for those with induction cooktops 7Apr 04, 2011 1:41 pm no but it will effect the total rating of the cable. Electrician are going to look at the individual details of the element. Just what the total current rating as specified by the product. Re: for those with induction cooktops 8Apr 04, 2011 3:34 pm Yes love mine, so much easier to clean!! And looks nicer IMO. We had a Lofra in our last house but will be installing a Blanco in our build, quite pricey but worth it!! The only reason we are upgrading the brand (had no problem with the Lofra) is because that is the brand our builder stocks so just easier to have them install it rather than us after handover. Re: for those with induction cooktops 12Apr 05, 2011 9:12 pm I love my induction cooktop. I'm still getting used to it, the power settings for example, and I haven't quite mastered cooking pancakes yet. BUT I wish I'd spent another $300 and bought a better brand. I have a Baumatic (from the Good Guys) and although it's got a 2 year warranty, it's rather noisy. When more than 2 hot plates are on there is a loud buzzing, and when any of them are on a very low setting they kind of "tick" like a clock. No big deal but I find it annoying. It does look fabulous and it is very responsive. Good luck with your choice. Re: for those with induction cooktops 13Apr 05, 2011 9:14 pm The ticking is the element turning on and off. Rather than adjust the power, the power is turned off and on. And Deemaree - do you mind asking how much for the cookware? Re: for those with induction cooktops 18Apr 06, 2011 9:05 pm okay I have to ask... sorry it is a dumb question - what is the difference in normal hotplates/oven's and an induction one... what are the pros and cons...... saves me googling lots! Thanks! Re: for those with induction cooktops 19Apr 06, 2011 9:20 pm Advantages of induction over normal electric: 1) More efficient (less electricity used) 2) Quicker cooking 3) Easy to clean 4) Look great 5) Safer (cooktop never gets hotter than the cookware) Disadvantages: 1) Expensive 2) Needs certain cookware (anything magnetic will do) Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 https://form.jotform.com/240284569218058 Please spare a moment to fill out this survey form for a project.
