Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances Re: Rangehood 19Feb 24, 2011 3:13 pm How much is it to install this type of r/hood that has all the doo-dads on the outside of the house? Re: Rangehood 20Feb 27, 2011 8:07 pm With Both Schweigen & Whispair yes they are recommended to be installed around 3-4metres away Yet if you have no choice and need to go closer then they start a little more noise yet are still very good. A couple of factors will vary this - What type of extract the motor has and what speed it is at. A lot of people have no choice and have installed them 1-2metres away - Yet with a little more noise The most important thing here guys is the way they EXTRACT which is the point of hood - The great advantage is that there is very minimum noise involved. Schweigen/Whispair Silent hood use a consent draw to the exit point - Other units blow out and get weaker to exit point. star-anise Install of any good hood will be similar as the installation principal is the same - Explained in my previous post. Very minor difference as i have installed Qasair, Schweigen, Whispair & Lots of standard set up brands - Cost varies per job - normally $250 - $600 for average set ups - Varying factors involved, more work obviously raises that. Prices shouldnt really vary for any standard hood that is installed CORRECTLY (Being ducted outside to a roof cowl or wall vent) BillMac Motor noise at 1.5metres away will still be quieter then a Qasair as long as there is a minor S bend in the ducting for the Schweigen for no ECHO (Yet both will be fantastic extracting units & quiet) Melrich NETT Extract ratings are always done at filters (NOT at the bench/cooktop) |
