Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Feb 01, 2011 9:44 am We are in the process of finalising our new kitchen, and have started looking at appliances. We are looking at getting two gas built-in ovens and a gas cook top, but having never bought either of these type of appliances before, we need help! So…any recommendations for gas build-in ovens & gas cook tops? Not looking for top-of-the-line, but would like something that will do a decent job & not break down. Thanks in advance! Can't really make any recommendations with out it Re: Recommendations for gas cook top & oven 3Feb 02, 2011 7:11 am You say you do not want top of the range. When we were loking we found the Blanco appliances were the best of the mid range. They felt the most solid though their oven capacities are small. Maybe if you can stretch to a Blanco cooktop and a Bosch oven would be a good combo. Dishwashers I would go with Bosch, great reputation and they make some lower priced models. My experience with rangehood is that if you don't spend the money you get crap so I don't really have an mid range brands I could recommend. Prestige appliances also sell Belling, but I have no idea who they are. Ilve would be out due to $$ I think. but I wouldn't really choose any of the rest either. I'm getting Bosch Oven, Cook top and Dishwasher. I don't they're top of the line, but From everyone I know who has them you get top quality build and reliability but maybe not all the features for your $$. A Budget of $6k would get you a Bosch oven, cook top, rangehood, dishwasher. All of those have 2yr std warranty (most other low/mid range only has 1yr) and they have an excellent fault rate according to choice tests (Ovens) It may sound like a lot, but i don't think you'll be disappointed. The only thing is they don't make Gas Ovens, seems to be a dying breed unless you get dual fuel ovens and even then not many do then in wall ovens Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well.
