Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Jan 17, 2011 7:24 pm Just wanting to hear what people's opinions are on Blanco ovens and cooktops. I've narrowed down my choices to a few brands like Blanco, Baumatic etc but I still keep coming back to the Blanco - I really like the look. My choice for Blanco would be: * 700mm Gas Cooktop Model Number: BCGG7X * 750mm 75L Multifunction electric oven Model Number: BOSGG75X Love to hear your opinions... Re: Blanco ovens and/or cooktops - your opinions please... 2Jan 17, 2011 9:07 pm Hi! I have done a fair bit of research for the new kitchen we are doing and the general consensus has been , Ilve or Blanco if you still want a great item but aren't a billionaire... i have a cooktop on the way.. I hope everyone agrees with us! :/ haven't heard much about Baumatic but the styling of their stuff is nice. Good luck! Re: Blanco ovens and/or cooktops - your opinions please... 3Jan 18, 2011 8:24 am I have a 750 Blanco oven, not sure if it's exactly the same as the one you have chosen, but it has been really good. It has a lot of different setting so I'm constantly reading the manual but I have no complaints. I don't have the cooktop though and I hate the Blanco microwave with a passion will be replacing it very soon. Just checked, mine is the BOSE752 Multifunctional Oven. Re: Blanco ovens and/or cooktops - your opinions please... 4Jan 18, 2011 2:54 pm I just purchased a Blanco 900mm upright and rangehood. Sure looks the part! I'm not building for a few months but got a great deal so I've got it in storage ready to go. I looked for ages at all the brands and settled on Blanco as I believe it offers good value for money and looks fantastic. Re: Blanco ovens and/or cooktops - your opinions please... 5Jan 23, 2011 11:05 am I purchased a Blanco because it was a stand-alone with a gas cooktop and an electric oven, which was the combination I needed for my situation. The oven has never been able to maintain a steady temperature and the repair person has been out to correct it - with modest results. It no longer tries to burn the place down (it was heating over 550 degrees farenheit, no matter what it was set on). Now it will regulate the temp with 100 degrees farenheit differential, meaning if I want the oven temp to be 350d, it will wander anywhere between 300 and 400. Sorry to use farenheit, but all my baking recipes use that, so I keep an oven thermometer, which is how I know its heating is very *. My opinion: Blanco ovens are disasterous, and I am considering buying a separate wall oven to have one that works. The gas cooktop part works beautifully, though. Have you checked your temp gauge is ok,have you tried another one(gauge that is) to be sure it`s the oven? Re: Blanco ovens and/or cooktops - your opinions please... 8Jan 27, 2011 3:14 pm I reckon it might simply because you have placed the thermometer in a hotspot in the oven and also you have to keep in mind that the voltage supply can vary from the grid and can throw off the calibration of your oven, which is usually done in a controlled environment.
