Corner cooktop & rangehood

Hi all

I'm coming to the stage where I'll need to start looking at kitchens and getting quotes etc. We are seriously considering putting our gas cooktop and rangehood in one of the corners of the kitchen.

For those of you who have done this can you recommend any cooktops and/or rangehoods that would suit a corner. I've had a quick look at Franke & Baumatic but can't really seem to find anywhere that stocks it (that's only looking online).

Also if you have already done this I'd love to see some photos on the finished result.

Just curious why you're putting it in the corner?

I haven't done it, but I'm assuming it would cost more due to possibly having things custom made?

also, do you cook often- wouldnt the corner part annoy you?

Would being a corner make access to the back of it harder/further away?

Mainly to save on bench space and the only side we can really have our cooktop on seems to be a little too close the the wall panel that is up against the fridge. Friends of ours have recently done this and it actually looks good. Since searching on the internet there are heaps of images of kitchens with corner cooktops etc.

Not really. You would be able to easily access the cooktop to clean it after cooking.
