To be brief Miele and Bosch are German brands and Germans thoroughly test their wares before releasing it into the markets. Smeg is Italian and heard not so good comments about it. Personally if you are a good cook I would go for Bosch pyro oven it has been proven to be a reliable cooktop and oven Miele is for the person that likes bells and whistles with programmed functions etc. I would not buy Miele their ovens are not large capacity as Bosch and their cooktops are an overkill in price and performance. Re: bosch vs miele vs smeg 3Nov 26, 2010 3:49 pm Hi..I can't comment on anything other than the Bosch oven as we have a Bosch pyro oven and are very pleased with it. Still haven't used the pyro function yet though, even though we've had to oven many months now Re: bosch vs miele vs smeg 4Nov 30, 2010 10:02 pm We have Miele stovetop and Smeg oven, i love the stove top, anything german i love though because its always perfect .
Smeg oven we have is good, no complaints about its cooking ability or build quality, once you know how to use all the knobs very easy (learning takes some time!), however we foolishly didn't go pyrolytic. I tried to clean it out, was the most painful job ever, however hadn't done it in 6 years so...i guess the fact that it stayed reasonably clean for that long is a testament to those catalytic cleaning plates :S Just trying to disassemble it you could tell it wasn't German...very painful We're building a duplex and i think i'll be happy to go Smeg again for the oven, the amount of extra money for the sake of an easier clean i don't feel is worth it. We have a Miele dishwasher and love it, have seen many houses with run of the mill cooktop/oven and then a Miele dishwasher lol. Re: bosch vs miele vs smeg 5Dec 01, 2010 10:03 am I have the SMEG 60cm oven (SA304-8)- its tiny on the inside (can't fit roast lamb with additional tray of vegies in at the same time!). Luckily I also have the 90cm (C9GMXA) freestanding cooker (which I can cook my larger meals in) that I love!. No problems with performance or cleaning (although only 6 months old). My advice - I'd be checking out the internal dimensions. A friend has a 7 month old Smeg freestander thats has cracked 2 door glasses and the 3rd time the door bent!!! Whole front had to be replaced. Smeg were happy to repair but she is now scared the thing will completely blow up and Smeg won't do anything but fix the immediate issues. I just bought Bosch Oven, Cook top and dishwasher but won't be installed for another 9-11 months. Bosch DW at my office is great (when people other than myself empty/stack it!!) really quiet and cleans really well. I am installing a new Bosch SMU4HTS01A built under dushwasher. I have 2 questions. What is the function of the metal strip about 500mm long x 60mm wide the tell you to… 0 2716 |
