I have decided to upgrade the builders standard 90cm Omega oven to a Freestanding Smeg C9GMXA. I thought the Omega oven was too small and the 90cm Freestanding looked a bit cheap.
Just had a look in the Smeg showroom and this model comes in Stainless Steel, White and Black. The black is very tempting as it is a bit different to the normal stainless steel.
Was wondering if anyone has used the black in their kitchen and what they thought. My kitchen is White Stone on White high gloss with Toughened mirror splashback.

I personally haven't any black appliances but would just mention this - what colour are the rest of your appliances? If they are stainless then I would think they would look funny against a black oven. If they are integrated and therefore blend into the cabinetry then the oven would look ok. BUT it then means that your oven will be a focus point - is that what you want?
ie figure out what you want to stand out as a dominant feature - if the only black thing is the oven then it will draw the eye to it.
Some things are worth waiting for.

A friend of mine has a french provincial style kitchen (off white colour) with everything integrated but have a black ilve freestanding cooker - doesn't look out of place at all, in fact i didn't even notice it was black until i started to pay more attention to 'house stuff' now that we are in the building game.
I agree, if you have everything else stainless steel then it might look a bit of a mish mash, but if you are planning on integrating the fridge, dishwasher, microwave etc it would look fine. Another thing to note is that you will probably want/need your rangehood to match in some way (or go for a concealed/undermount one).
