Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Sep 26, 2010 3:31 pm Hi, I am VERY new to the whole DIY thing and am in the process of buying a new gas cooktop and rangehood. The problem is that our current appliances were bought in the early 90's and new ones don't seem to be made in the same dimensions. Anyway, the cut out we have for our cooktop is a depth of 360mm and width of 870mm. The Appliance we need to fit in has a depth of 510mm and width of 894mm. The space between the cupboards for the rangehood is 995mm. The current rangehood is fixed and vents out through the ceiling behind cupboards. New rangehoods only seem to come in standard 900mm size. If anyone has any advice for me it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you all in advance. The rangehood canopy (extractor to me) you are talking about f one of those long pipe thingies you just have to live with the additional gap however it is too small to worry about. On the other hand if the rangehood is undermount in a cupboard just a filler (melamine) this will adjust the gap.
