Me too so we are two now Just finished buying under the cupboard rangehood scholtes 900cubic metres air removal which is similar to Quasair without the additional costs of their ducting which is a must for quasair. Dishwasher Bosch slimline 45cm SRU53E05AU Sink Lakeland Hansa mixer tap I have an existing freestanding cooker I also can cook just about anything anywhere so I went to a demo Neff and Miele Not convinced of their premium price and small oven cavities I am not looking for a programmable or pre-programmed oven. The feature I am looking for is position of heating elements ease of use and self cleaning I may probably go for a Westinghouse pyrolitic but it should cost me less than $2000 On the other hand Induction grabbed me and conducted a poll but I still like to grill and use the wok a good induction cooktop is judged by the wattage output per cooking zones and the number of zones still quite expensive round $3000 for good brands. Appearance is the least of my concerns. I may go this time for gas and one day may change it over to induction cost wise gas is cheaper although a bit messier than induction. If you choose induction you'll need a prowerful rangehood something in the vicity of 900Cubic metres extraction rate like Quasair or Scholte or even a twin motor extractor to go up to 1800 to 2000 Cm3 simply because induction is instantaneous and gas is not. Or else look for special kitchen appliances packages at various stores Miele has one so is Neff in October you'll get either 5 or 7.5% discount on the total purchase price and very good appliances. I like to bake and make breads, pastries lots of breads some years I wen through three x 25kg bags of flour so a stone benchtop is my ideal. Perhaps think what do and how do you like to cook the most then it should be easy to decide whether you should spend more money in cooktop and oven or less and put it on a ceasarstone bench. Re: Kitchen renovation - Need some help with appliances 3Sep 26, 2010 5:09 pm Thanks for that info Grinder. Will definitely look into the rangehood options a little further and get some prices on the Quasair or Scholte models. To further confuse me Choice magazine have just recommended the Electrolux oven (EPEE63AS) and the Westinghouse (POP883S). The Bosch didn't rate quite as well. Just when I thought I had it all worked out. Grrrrrrr. Re: Kitchen renovation - Need some help with appliances 4Sep 27, 2010 11:07 am We're getting Schweigen rangehood. Expensive but worth the $$ because you can barely hear it running at flat out. And as Grinder points out big air flow/CFM rating. You can get a 650CFm unit that looks similar in shape to that Miele for $1800 but because the motor is mounted at the top of the ducting it creates a vacuum effect. And with the motor up top you get less noise. Personally I found Quasair very expensive compared to Schweigen and I didn't like the finish on them (but thats just me) they did work very well. Re: Kitchen renovation - Need some help with appliances 5Oct 03, 2010 9:13 pm Don't get too caught up in the choice tests, i find they are often funny as they weight wierd things like ease of use for those with disabilites highly, and you may not care about things like that. also with ovens, the actual look of it can be quite important, and they are not going to give that a score at choice! Bosch are an excellent brand I'm sure you will be happy with your choice.
