In the poll please note the most impressive feature of induction and please additional comments if necessary Thank you Re: Induction cooking end results? 2Sep 12, 2010 2:38 pm I've only had mine for a couple of weeks, so I'm just basing this on my experience so far. I have a Blanco 4 zone induction cooktop. Love how easy it is to just wipe over after every use, no pulling off cast iron stands to wash, or having to use the stainless steel cleaner. I found my previous Ilve stainless steel cooker a pain to clean I love how you can actually simmer and not burn!! Amazed at how quick I can boil a pot of water So far I just adore it Re: Induction cooking end results? 3Sep 12, 2010 10:53 pm Thank you brb_654 One comment I like to make too It appears that there is not much difference between the top contenders and the bottom ones except for look and knobs or sliders which is purely aesthetic. On that note I willbe buying a combo of wok burner with 18000 megajoules and three induction burner rings. One advantage I like to have is a cooler kitchen in summer as the induction burners do not generate as much heat as the gas burners. Re: Induction cooking end results? 4Sep 13, 2010 7:56 am Hi We also have a Blanco Induction Cooktop - 60cm. But I have the 3 burner one as I found even though it is only a 3 burner, the hot plates are bigger and fit my pans perfectly. This is our second induction cooktop. We installed one in our old house and looooved it so much, I had to get one for our new home. From memory, the first time around when we bought one, the sales guy in the shop said that induction was 30% more efficient than gas. Don't quote me on that, but that is what we were told. Also, if you're not sure if your pots/pans are induction compatible, just place a magnet on the base of your pot/pan. If it sticks, it is compatible to use with your induction cooktop. All my existing cookware was compatible except for a bess3m3r pot. So if your getting induction, don't buy bessem3r, it's not compatable with induction! Re: Induction cooking end results? 7Sep 22, 2010 8:41 am Nathan SteelFab It's safer, no gas for kids to combust with Yes you right just one best marketing reason still quite expensive one thing though when it comes to induction there is very little difference between the top appliance makers and the bottom ones Re: Induction cooking end results? 8Sep 22, 2010 10:47 am I'm curious to know what the running cost difference are between gas and induction. I've read they use just as much power as regular electric, so I'm assuming gas is still a lot cheaper to run despite being less efficient?
