Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Jul 12, 2010 10:48 am We have ordered a rangehood that is concealed under cupboards - Capacity = 856m3/hr.net. Noise rating - 38-58dBA. We were happy until friends with similar said to change because of these models having poor steam removal and high moisture on cupboards. We could change but we have to now decide soon is we change to retractable model which brand is quieter. Really liked the neat look of the concealed but is it practical? Re: Rangehood ?? - built in concealed canopy under cupboards 2Jul 13, 2010 11:54 am The main thing to look at when purchasing an rangehood is the strength at which it exhausts the fumes/ moisture so it really sucks up the steam and cooking odours. The other consideration is ducting of the rangehood a recirculated model doesnt really do that much. We were have not been happy with our slideout rangehoods (ducted) we have had in our past 2 kitchens (came with the home) we found our cupboards and ceiling would get greasy and moisture would bead on the cupboard doors . I found the slide out rangehood to be very difficult to clean as well. So after looking at a friend's rangehood in their restaurant's kitchen I started doing some research for our new build. I discovered the Schweigen undermounted 900mm with the isodrive motor. The added bonus to the Schweigen rangehoods is that they are very quiet as the motor is located on the exterior of your home (similar to commercial models) . Here is a link to their website http://www.schweigen.com.au/ HTH Michelle Yes, get a builder, make sure he is experienced and a registered building practitioner 5 8960 Hi, Can anyone give me approx. price for overhead cupboards. TIA 0 16593 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16140 |
