Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Jun 08, 2010 3:15 pm Hi, We are looking at new kitchen ovens. I'd like to hear about peoples experiences with AEG or Miele. In the AEG range we are looking at the KB9810e-M & the B9871-5-M. In the Miele range we are looking at the H 5080 BM & the H 5681 BP Re: AEG or Miele Wall oven 2Jun 08, 2010 4:45 pm I would use the search option first, i think this has been answered before If you need a kitchen drawn up, post it on this thread - gotta give me a couple of days though:) viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26892 Re: AEG or Miele Wall oven 4Jun 09, 2010 11:53 am Personally I would go for Miele - I agree with then having a good reputation, and from what I have heard have great after sale service too. This was a deciding factor for us when selecting appliances - we have gone for Miele - so hope we are happy as other customers Building on the Sunshine Coast - Land settled 22nd July 2009 Building contract finally signed (after much deliberation on our part) 11th November 2009 Building commences 25th January 2010 - small local builder End of June - almost completed fit out 26th July - MOVE IN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: AEG or Miele Wall oven 5Jun 09, 2010 12:02 pm Obviously Miele is going to be better than AEG. However I am pretty sure Meile is also going to be much more expensive. AEG is owned by the australian company (Electrolux). In saying that i have Electrolux at home and for the money you cant beat it. paid under 6k for the top of the line range with induction/multioven and powerfull range hood. Re: AEG or Miele Wall oven 6Jun 09, 2010 12:06 pm Thanks for everyones input. Is there anyone out there who actually has the AEG B9871-5-M particulary, but also the KB9810e-M. Cheers Re: AEG or Miele Wall oven 7Jun 09, 2010 6:04 pm Yes, I have the AEG oven (B9871-5-M) you are looking at. Although I haven't installed it as yet as it's going into a new house currently being built. I decided on this particular oven as it was going into an investment property, and I didn't want to spean too much. Having never liked the look of Miele, my choices were AEG, BOSCH, NEFF or Siemens. AEG won out as the price to features ratio was excellent. Some have stated that the quality of AEG appliances has dropped of late, but that isn;t true of their ovens. Alot of their appliances are now out source to various other members of th Electrolux Group, however their ovens are still made in Germany by AEG themselves. Hope that Helps, if you need more info let me know. Re: AEG or Miele Wall oven 8Jun 09, 2010 7:31 pm I am getting both the AEG B9871-5-M and the KB9810E-M in my house - but unfortunately can't tell you how they are as it is still being built. These aren't cheap appliances, and I don't think these particular models fall into the value-for-money category necessarily (both are top of the range and both sell in the shops for over $3500 from memory?) so I would hope the quality is quite good! It is the best oven ever and would highly recommend it. However, and everything has it's faults, if anything gets spilt down between the glass panels then you cannot remove the glass to clean it. This is a safety thing built in by Miele I believe because if the door is not put on correctly then microwaves can leak. But the oven is the absolute best, I would suggest you get a right hand or left hand opening door as opposed to my drop down door, that way you would not have the problem I have. Since when has Electrolux been Australian? They are Swedish and have been since day 1. True they own AEG, as well as brands well known in Australia such as Westinghouse, Kelvinator, Simpson etc Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 2083 My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven.
