Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 May 12, 2010 9:35 pm Hi I went looking for a new fridge todday and was told the energy rating stickers had changed, From what I could understand, now the less stars the better. Does anyone know if this is right My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: NEW ENERGY RATING ON WHITEGOODS 2May 13, 2010 12:58 pm Hi, The energy efficiency ratings changed as at 1st April 2010. Televisions, Air Conditioners and Refridgerators can have a star rating of up to 10 stars. If the product has more than 6 stars then the product can be given a special super efficiency label. The more stars the more energy efficient the product is. If you look at the energy rating website at http://www.energyrating.gov.au/appsearch/refrig_srch.asp you will be able to search for appliances and see the energy rating. The search tool lists the applicances and provides you with both the old star rating for the applicance and the new star rating. Just had a look and a couple I looked up had 4-4 1/2 stars in the old rating and now they are 1-2 1/2 stars so doesnt that mean the less stars the better My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. Anything more than 6 as said previously is super efficient. I was a bit deflated when all our 4 star appliances downgraded to 2 So the more stars the more energy efficient as before - if you get 4 stars in the new system that is very good. Thanks bluesteel, I think I understand now, so now I still have to look for the most stars. Well that makes sense. My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE.
