Hi everyone, been reading this forum for ages and finally have joined up.
We are building with big M and was wondering if anyone out there went with Baumatic appliances (cooktop, oven and dishwasher)? If so, are you happy with them.

I think the cooktop is a bit ugly but it heats really well and the wok burner is used frequently. The rangehood looks great but is a bit tempremental-it turns itself on and off randomly at times. The dishwasher we have only used twice but it seems to clean well both times. Re: Baumatic Appliances 5Aug 20, 2011 8:59 pm Stay away from Baumatic. Worst oven I have ever used. After the door falling off twice, handle coming off twice, inside racks coming loose on no less than 12 occasions in 4 years, 3 timer replacements, long service call times, lack of parts availability and 10 service calls, colour wearing off the knobs and an oven door that never fitted properly and leaked heat everywhere. We are now cutting our losses on this one as it blew up again tonight with a short circuit in the timer circuit which has melted the unit and the wire casing around it. In the 4 years we owned it, it has been nothing but trouble. I have asked Think Appliances to replace the oven but they just kept trying to fix it, leaving us without an oven for weeks at a time waiting for parts. Escalated to the Managing Director and he fobbed me off to service who just kept flogging this dead horse despite years of trouble. It is out of warranty and we will not go back and get it fixed any more. Will never buy Baumatic or ANY brand distributed by Think Appliances again. In fact our Baumatic dishwasher of the same age we have also replaced with an Asko (which we love) as the Baumatic again was constant trouble. The first one we had we did get replaced completely under warranty but the second was still rubbish. Re: Baumatic Appliances 6Aug 20, 2011 9:35 pm We have a Baumatic oven and glass electric cooktop in our apartment. We have been using them for nearly three years. No problems yet. The oven does have a hot spot, and I struggle to find cookie trays to fit it. Its a 600 mm wide oven. Re: Baumatic Appliances 7Aug 21, 2011 6:24 am see the 'dishwasher thread' re baumatic viewtopic.php?f=16&t=50341&p=771476#p771476 we had a 45 cms baumatic dishwasher..useless. we have a ceramic hob and round hood with them..so far ok, (hood is noisy) been in house 4 mths...we got them cos they were the cheapest thing in the shop will replace as they die and money becomes available |
