Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Oct 30, 2009 9:10 am Has anyone on here had any experience buying your ovens, dishwasher etc online? I have been keeping an eye on grays online, but haven't seen anything yet that either falls into my budget (after you add in the delivery and the 15%!) or what I want/need (90cm freestanding). And then I have come across a website called Wholesale Appliances (http://www.wholesaleappliances.com.au). They look like good appliances, they just don't come labelled with the brand name. So your not paying for a brand so to speak. Would like to try and get some feedback before I jump in. Mind you, my house hasn't even started yet and my builder wants all my kitchen appliance details in 2 weeks So I am on a deadline. Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 3Oct 30, 2009 9:28 am nah... forget Grays Online - they have a 15% Buyer Premium and generally over-charge on delivery fees. Most of their appliances are seconds/refurbished or "slightly" damaged demos... I wouldn't touch that stuff. You are better off trying to pick up an in-store demo or floor-stock or clearance model from a local retailer. You'll get better service, a better warranty, no hidden fees and you get to see the product. Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 6Oct 30, 2009 9:57 am http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/ These are not second hand and have some good discounts. If you are buying alot of appliances at once you are better off going to a retail store and getting them to do you a really good deal Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 7Oct 30, 2009 7:29 pm Pepper, you may not realize, but this is an Australian forum. I think very few people would be interested in importing items all the way from the US. If you are buying alot of appliances at once you are better off going to a retail store and getting them to do you a really good deal When I was researching for the appliances for my new kitchen I discovered that this online store is actually owned by Winning Appliances. Whe we went to the actual Winning Appliances store I asked the salesman about this and he then gave us the same prices (about 20% off) as the online site. This suited us as some of our items were not available in the cheaper discount stores like The Good Guys. (Gessi tap etc.) For anyone who doesn't like dealing with an internet store and would refer face to face contact, this is one option. Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 9Oct 30, 2009 8:02 pm Hey thanks everyone for your opinions I'll keep looking around, I guess my biggest problem is, is that I don't know what kind of oven brand to get. My budget is pretty tight, but want to get the best that I can for the money. My upper limit for an 90cm upright is about 2400 (cheaper the better lol) I was hoping to wait until the christmas sales....I don't understand why the builder wants the details now I haven't even got site scrape lol Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 10Oct 30, 2009 8:17 pm Frogger Hey thanks everyone for your opinions I'll keep looking around, I guess my biggest problem is, is that I don't know what kind of oven brand to get. They sell at auction, from the showroom or even online. We've bought quite a bit over the years and found their prices to be really competitive. Good service too. Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 12Oct 30, 2009 9:29 pm Jazzie, is that for wall ovens or freestanding ones?? I need a 90cm freestanding cooker (the gap to fill is 900mm). I'm making sure that the litre size of the oven I buy is at least 110 inside. Some I have seen are down under 100. The omega I'm looking at with the GG is 121 litres. Which is good... Its confusing! Indi> ummmm don't know who your talking about lol its starred it out Could you possibly pm me the name? Thanks so much Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 13Nov 02, 2009 12:51 pm I read a review in a magazine a few weeks back about this website http://www.bigbrownbox.com.au/ Their prices seem pretty good.. and they do free delivery to most of Australia - pretty decent if you are living a fair way from shops and you need something big like a dishwasher ! Re: Buying kitchen appliances online 14Nov 04, 2009 5:57 am I've been looking online ... then calling up stores and seeing if they'll beat the online price ... although I haven't bought a thing from appliancesonline ... they've sure helped in my negotiations I keep getting "but that's below our buy in price" ... I go to hang up ... and suddenly the price drops ... usually get a better deal on delivery too. With Grays ... I've found going to the Tuesday auctions have much better prices ... but I'd still be concerned about not having a decent warranty time. Yeah I don't know why I came to a forum. Place is full of wierdos/pedos thought internet may help but I suppose I'll try my luck with someone in person. Cheers. I tried… 0 6440 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6631 2 4674 |
